I want a staff the when carried is hand held and when in a fight it extends both ways to make it longer that would be cool.

Outside the obvious "just fix things"...

A new weapon or two would be nice. Move the vibro lance to polearms 4 and give something new at novice pike. All the specific suggestions here are fine.

A new skill either to be added or to replace one of our duplicates. Area bleed doesn't appeal to me personally, but some sort of delaying move on a separate timer from knockdown (like smuggler's panic shot, for instance) would go a long way towards extending our lives.

I like mounted combat only if I can get on a carrion spat and emulate the old "Joust" arcade game. Man I loved that game.

Taking some of the ideas of others in this thread and merging them, how is this?:

Similar to TKA meditation, Pikemen would be able to "stand at attention" with their pole arms.

Three animations come to mind - one with weapon angled out in front of us, one with the weapon directly in front of us and another close to our right side. These could be used for a specific type of meditation. One for each HAM you are meditating (or focusing) on.

Imagine standing outside a city hall or guild hall "guarding" the entrance - mentally buffing our stats in case trouble comes about.

As Pikemen are the guardians or the bodyguards of elite, I think it would be fitting to show a guardian type animation while giving us a very Focused state.

Ok, I have a char whos is nearly TKA Master (took my time 4 months, didnt grind, had a blast), but thinkingto drop it for Pikeman, because 75% of the players are now TKA,which is very boring.


What I noticed is, while using Pike, Pikemen dont have anything special which makes them stand out of the Melee mass (each profession should, i.e. TKA Medititation skill).


Here comes an idea:


Ewoks had spears in the movies....


so why not give Pikemen the ability to throw spears as an extra skill tree?

my wishlist duJour...


I would like a change to ranged fighters who run and fire. They should trip. Not always, but often. Try running full speed while looking over your shoulder. This would make it a bit more fair for the chaser. Yes they can shoot us in the eye while running, fine whatever.


Failing that (hahaha), I would like the Mortal Combat Scorpion 'Get over here!' move. Pikemen can be trained in the use of the projectile on a chain. Spin it around, fling, wraps up, sticks in, or otherwise trips opponent. Now that would set us apart. "Run a pikeman! oh, crap too late..."


I would like a defense stick. Call it what you want. But a staff/pike that is purely for defense. Like CoB, it comes out at the last minute. No specials, just blocks. Giving the pikeman the few moments he needs to survive till help arrives. No damage, or minimal damage, this is the staff of life. (Hey, good name)


I would really like like PikeSWAT to come into being (see previously mocked post).


I would like melee armor. Not adv Ubese, not too friggin hard to get forever RIS, just melee armor. I'm tired ok looking like Princess Leia in RotJ. Something slick, high kinetic, and low encumbrance. Don't need boots, I don't even wear shoes. High end Comp is for PvP diehards. Also, it would be nice not to be blinded every 2 hits while wearing a full helmet.

I went through the post and collected all the ideas offered:


1. Area Bleed


2. New high level weapons with different tactics and types of damage. I.e. Spears, lances, halberds, glaives ETC.


The Force pike has been mentioned alot, good idea. Others include and Echani dual vibrobladed weapon. Or a long


lance like the stormies were carrying on Dewbacks in ANH.


3. New moves:
- First of all the devs need to put their "thinking" caps on and come up with better names rather than


POLEARMHIT1.... Like for real... It's called finishing a game... devs should try that before pushing it out.
-Move that pushes multiple enemies away from your position, like spining your polearm, to keep them off your


back for let's say 15 seconds? Kind of like warcray only affects multiple targets.
-Specials should inflict more damage because they cost so much HAM
-a move that pins the target to the ground, either inflicting constant damage or lasting a long time while


others can pummel the target... I like the inflicting damage while pinned myself.
-Disarm, we should be able to effectively disarm an opponent with ease. i.e. knock the weapon off them by forcing them to unequip it... man that would be too annoying so how about it just hits the weapon out of the way and they can't use it I guess we can stick a timer there.
-Bleeding should last longer and be more devastating... Blasters cauterize wounds, they burn not bleed. Polearms cut and crack bones. Let's get some more bleeding please!
- our kd and tripping moves should be unrivaled! I mean how does a blaster actually knock a person down? It usually does that when they are dead... Polearms are hard, heaving and long! We should be able to trip and knock people and creatures down with ease.
4. Reducing HAM cost as you work up the various trees.


5. Mounted combat, could dedicate a tree to it and have seperate specials for it.


6. Polearms are LONG the range should be the LONGEST of the melee classes!


7. Class definition. We are supposedly high damage... all I can say is... O_o;; I think we should be mob controllers... Since there are none except a Grual Mauler.


8. Spread the bonuses in the skillboxes or just add more


9. Some socials so that we can lean on our lances or throw them over our shoulder like a continental soldier.


10. Javelin weapons! They are one-shot and you can craft them using bones and hide, let's leave the weaponsmiths


out of this since they can't even make a good LVA (-50 mod???). Let's say we can make stacks of 10 or 20 and we can


throw them to inflict damage... Yes a ranged Melee class! Amazing!. Or we can have things like poisons on the tip


we can add. Like a tranquilizer tip that puts the animal to sleep until you hit it!


11. We need a unique tree that distinguishes us from other classes, some suggestions:
- tree that reduces armor encumberance so we can wear full suit
- A type of meditiation like "stand at attention" like the TKA meditation tree.


12. Defense against KD. Pikemen are extremely balanced with their acrobatic moves so it should be hard for us to loose that balance.

If we are going to hit less, miss more.... we need speed! An attempt at a hit every half second sounds very reasonable. Speed doesnt change from novice to master, just better of an attempt at hitting.


Sweep 2.... isnt it suppost to knock down multiple targets? Doesnt seem todo anything more than sweep 1.


How come the newbie polearm cert has better AP and damage than the novice pikeman cert?


Mind cost lowered considerably so we dont have to spent 7,000 credits each time I want to solo or even group. I had to get the medic line just to play pike which doesnt seem reasonable


At release of live, I did bounty hunter and experimented with pistoleer. My guns could easily hit for 500-700 damage at 0-0-3-3 and at pikeman 0-0-3-3 I am missing and only hitting for 250-500.


To wear armor, I have to get special kinetic which means if I go up against someone in PvP, I dont last very long having my armor only 15% to other damage types.

screw area bleed...and area leg hit, they'd be nice....but i know I can't stand between several of ANYTHING that i need to bleed to beat and actually stand there long enuff for a bleed to matter....they'd be nice, but not to usefull.


I want polearm hit 3 to have the appropriate damage modifeir (X4 instead of X3)....and i want a move that does at least 2.5X damage and hopefully 3.0X damage that does 100% wounds when we sucsessfully wound some one....not 100% of their health just 100% of the damage we inflict.


That alone will give pikeman a new, fair, managable, worthy, and usefull place in PvP.


Does any one agree?
