This 3x myth has plagued this forum for a long time, but it's simply not true anymore. Around publish 7 I think antares found it had changed to 4x, and several others have confirmed it since then. There are still several "resources" out there incorrectely claiming it's 3x, though.
quickly deletes bookmarks of false DPS calculators....alright cool deal, now all i wish they would do is remove posture down and actually make hit3 viable in PvP hehe

Hey bud, I guess im sorry for kinda jumpin down your throat there. I know we all look at the DPS calculators on the web and they say hit 3 is a 3x modifier. All i know is what my combat spam and floaty numbers tell me.
Theres nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but when you said that you wanted proof for a dev, I just kinda got annoyed. I guess just because I knew it was from experience and didnt need anyone to tell me. I could have handled that better and I apologize.

Man, this is one of the most polite forums around. If this was a thread on the Jedi boards there'd be 8 more pages of flaming and trolling for no reason.
There is one DPS calculator out there that actually has correct data. If only I knew where to find a link to it... *cough*

my lva has 749 max damage,and my combat logs shows hitsup to 5560(combat log on gurks atm)
now-i m rifleman pikeman.
if i use a good sliced standard t21 with 730 max damage-my max hits,ralated on combat log,will be also around 5500.
my t21 atm deals 1k max damage-and my log shows numbers up to ~7500.
so,for rifle its 1000x5=5000x1,5=7500 (5 = damage mod on strafe shot 2)
and for pike 749x5=3745x1,5=5617 (5=damage mod on polehit 3)
Am i testing something wrong?

Error in red. The standard damage multiplier for melee attacks is 1.86x. (I've been told it's 1.5x for ranged, but never tested that myself). So with your 749 max damage weapon you get.
5560 / 1.86 / 749 = 3.99x damage mod.
In theory you have a max damage of 5572, which you would eventually see given more hits.
