Actually, I you read my post directly above where you posted the first time, one of my last paragraphs started with "Thirdly, Ark brother, lay off the TK forums man".

Just one question. Why is it that you blame us (players) for the Devs aka SOE making the TK profession so powerful? I didn't specifically ask to be able to spam UHit3 continuously? Nor did I ask for VK's. I bought a box...I loaded the game...and the game said that I could have these. What would you have us do? Send the box back and tell SOE that unless they took these things away, I refused to play?
I actually came here to your forums to find out exactly why you guys were so "up-in-arms" about some issues. You are, at current time, a minority profession, and the only way you are ever going to get any attention is to get the majority to agree with you and to put pressure on SOE to make the changes.
But spamming another profession's forum, and insulting other classes is not going to get you that support. I also believe that this thread is a mistake, and I do appologize for my fellow TKA's over-zealous comments.
Personally, I would like to see the Pikeman class improved. It is my desire to play, at one time or another, every melee class. I have kept in storage a few Nightsister Lances just for this. So, it is also in my interest to see the class fixed.
So please, let's not fight over this. Direct your aggression at the people who can make the fixes. And rally the support of your fellow players. Don't allienate us.
People just shut up and play the game. These debates are so stupid. No one will change anyone's mind on this subject. Didn't we just get finished flaming DarthTaosin for calling us subpar? Why in the world are we doing it ourselves?
If pikeman sucks so bad and if our DPS is so vastly inferior then everyone become a TKA and come back to pikemen when its considered"fixed"
It's that simple.
I used to be a TKA but I'm dropping it for Pikeman. Why? Pikeman is fun and we all know it. It's the best kept secret in the game and we all know it which is why we are here.
For PvE it doesn't matter. Everything a TKA can drop a Pikeman can drop too. If you are tired of losing in PvP then either become a TKA and start "pwning" or quit engaging in PvP until you feel Pikemen can compete.
In one thread we complain about how much we suck. In another thread we post about how we have destroyed Dathomir's rancor population and Tatooine's Krayt population and how the only way you'll beat some of us in PvP is if you have 80% composite and doc buffs.

This is true, and a trend that is seen on every board. One hand will say the worst, the other hand the best. Sometimes people will be talking about how terrible they are with a sig that proclaims them being near-diety. This is why I try to stick with numbers. When someone comes on to the boards with incorrect information and an attitude, and I happen to have posts with numbers on the point, I bring it out.
It's also true that in PvE, dps means little, but in PvP, it is all-important.

That's all well and good antares but take it from a guy who's been a bounty hunter and spent a ton of time on the BH forums (that's where my insane post count came from by the way) and from a former TKA who spent time there.
An troll is a troll is a troll and there is ZERO reasoning with them. Zarl0k, vGeist, huan_the_destroyer, Maelstrom_1. . . there is just NO reasoning with people like that. Your facts and numbers mean NOTHING to them because of their "informed" opinions.
This guy we are debating with (can't even remember his name) may not be a troll but we all have opinions of a profession. Granted pikeman may be a little low on the totem pole but it's still very fun. Granted I may have an issue with the fact that the +250 unarmed damage stacking with VK's may actually be a bug and need addressing but TKA is a blast also.
Besides the all powerful combat revamp is underway so these threads are totally pointless until that's done since the devs have stated ad nausem that NOTHING will be done until that's over with.

This is an issue to be addressed with the combat revamp.
As for DPS, everyone knows with specials a TKM will blow a pikeman away. What was stated and hasn't really been clarified is the MAX damage strike which our TKM friend seems to be stuck on. MAX damage is a number which is not struck on a consistant basis. So factoring in MAX damage, with MIN damage strikes, along with SOMEWHERE INBETWEEN MAX AND MIN, damage strikes, you have a running tabulation of DPS. Our TK friend doesn't get it because his window between MAX and MIN is shallow enough to bring in a near consistant round to round DPS. Where as my strikes with an LVA will drift while on autoattack somewhere inside a 500 point window. Not to mention when we take a TKM spamming UH3, next to a Pikeman spamming PH3, you will see the specials blow by at what seems to be the speed cap (I'm not nor will ever be a TKM) and always hit. Pikemen on the other hand, (personally the master box is all I need to hit max speed) can spam their most powerfull move at around 1.5 seconds dependant on lag, and we will miss at least 1 or 2 outta 5. And not get anywhere near the DPS. I am at 4233 pike and my guildmate at 3211 TK will blow me away in DPS. No I have no uber looted weapons, no I have not been able to drop one of the toughest mobs in the game to get a weapon that will only be usefull as a PvP greifing tool.
The only, only advantage we have over a TKM is the ability to handle while fully buffed 5+ mobs. Anything under 5 a TKM can run em right in a row and drop em faster than a Pikeman. Unless they all con blue then we can one hit em all, if we don't miss.
We know what is good about Pikeman, we also know what is wrong with Pikeman. For fear of the inevitable it is natural to not want to accept strengths in leui of weakness in the event your profession gets hung as the next nerf target.

Im a new master pikeman, im also a master tkm and through playing this game (mainly on dathomiir and dantooine) i have noiced one thing, TKM is better full stop, than pikeman but i think pikeman are cool and will therefore be keeping pikeman, even if i do need to take another different class to make me more effective, i also pvp a lot (or did) and there was no choice for me it was tkm all the time because of dizzy/knockdown.
This is only my opinion of course but i have played both tkm and master pike for 2 months and one IS much better than the other, but when i drop tkm i will probably be keeping meditation it is so great to heal yourself and give primary mini buffs.
