same. im pissed

as said, dont be pissed.... ATM we were supposdly crowd controllers with low offense and look at us. personally im very interested to see what will happen. for pvp im thinking CM pikes will be aweosme xD

were suppose to have low defense and high offense if i'm not mistaken, says something like we're able to deliver some of the most crushing blows in the game....

correct. thats why i remain pissed

I always thought Pikeman was the supposed to be the most damage doing profession

I'd rather have some more Offense and less crowd control. In most battles you will concentrate on 1 enemy so not much use for crowd control.

Well, I'm back to my original template of pike/carbs/TK again. The draw of sweep2 was too much to ignore.

Although, post CU I'm contemplating a Pike/Carbs/Commando hybrid. Possibly just the flamer and nades line in commando.

Action shot

Supression shot

Area 2

Sweep 2

-Relocate-

Thermal Det

Supression shot

FAA2

Supression shot

Cripple and kite anything still alive

Stacking is going to be completely different from what it seems. I'm really looking forward to this, interested to see what specific mixes will yeild what.

Profession Mixing Tip: While Pikemen are not by default powerful offensively they do get extremely useful utility abilities and area attacks that when combined with other offensive professions skills, like those from Swordsman, allow for some devastating combinations.

what interests me greatly here and in all the "Profession mixing tips" is that it mentions when "X" is combined with "Y" you get "Z".

so from my understanding of this you will be able to use special combo moves which a standard "X" or "Y" would'nt normally have access to.

If my assumption is correct then stacking and multiple melee templates are gonna be so so kewl. and the CU is really gonna deliver.

but then again as the old saying goes assumption is the mother of all...........

Don't forget Pikeman is getting some kind of moves classified as "attack modifiers". Though the idea of not being classified as a hard hitter may sound bad at first maybe some of the moves might actually change your mind when you see em. Also as has been said proffessions will actually mix better than they did in the current system. What I'm wondering is if you take swordsmen with pike can you dio sword specials with your pike? That has been hinted at by other coorespondents. And if so how will that effect the dmg output everyone is concerned with while still getting the crowd control, "attack modifiers" and defense. At this point don't get discouraged till we see how everything works.

I have never really cared how much damage I do, as I generally play with friends, I am just glad that we will remain a crowd control profession. That by itself should be enough for me. But who knows, I play to have fun with friends, rather than to do that great on my own. I have been a Pikeman since beta, and have complained a bit to my friends about killing myself as a pikeman, but I have never really cared how well I do.

I quite like the look of the pikeman in the CU docs. I've allways thought of pikeman as being a low output proffesion versus a single target but when using the area attacks which pikemen excel in their damage output just gets better and better the more targets there are which is why they need high defenses to reach thier full potential.

I think I'm going to go master fencer and brawler with a couple of lines of pikeman and MID

I hope you guys know that if you have the best polearm now pre-CU, you will have the best post-CU.... Basically uber weapons now, will be uber after the CU, so dont think your awesome pikes will be useless guys. They will, however, be toned down to fit the CU needs.

I think I will continue with my Pikeman/Smuggler template..

Not because it would be a Great template, but because I love those to prefessions.

No one are going to force me to play some template, just because its the best one, I want to play the professions I like, not the professions I dont like, but makes me uber..

Oh, and with a Pike/Smuggler template, it appears thatyou will be even more of a Crowdcontrol char, Specialise might be the key.

I love Pikes, and that professions is gonna stay for ever on Waba, and Im very curious about how the Smuggler profession will be handled (im currently 4-2-0-4 smuggler) I hope I get to have both as Masters after CU

all accounts cancled. im leaving this game

this whole thing seems to make it look like your gonna have to combo/hybrid your profession to be good....im sorry to say, it will just bring around alot of the same stacked hybrids which people complained about before and will after. i also dont see how a fencer can honestly fit the "damage dealing mold" better than a pikeman.

I completely agree with you. I enjoyed being a low damage but tank/healer. With the timers, I probably won't be able to do both. That's aside the fact that fencers are no longer going to be tanks. Damage dealers? With a stick or small swords? And I'd guess that to be any good at melee, you'll need to pick up two combat professions in your template. Nobody knows enough about the SP changes, but I'm sure two master combat profs won't allow me to keep doc, even though I won't need master medic for it anymore.

We'll just have to wait and see. But after the CU, you might see me posting in this forum much more often...
