in my opinion the 2 weapons are not so comparable in fact are weapons of different professions with different capabilities. Looking both at all weapons and special moves seem to me that the swordsman is the damage dealer guy while pikeman still hit very hard but is more about multi opponent combat and control opponents.

also looking at weapons pikeman get 'only' a weapon with ap1 and 1 with ap 2

swordsman have almost all weapon with ap2 and important to note both with 'medium' damage and good speed (very good dps even at low level) and slow but higly damaging weapons like PH or vibro axe.

for this reason it des not seem to strange to me that the speed sliced hammer is a bit faster and a bit more damaging than a damage sliced LVA, and seem natural that the best weapon of the most damaging melee have a better DPS than the best weapon of the second most damaging profession

Re-read your first post and the wording of it and you can see why it was so easy for your point to be mis-interperted by me.
