First, try to give a day before you bump. Many of us post at odd hours or initially in the mornings (personally you never know when I'll post as it changes based on what else I have each day
).
You were partially correct in the first part of your statement. Melee Defense, Ranged Defense, Defense versus States, etc. all stack across professions. Defensive Acuity (TK Only), Dodge, Block, and Counterattack will stack, but they are only active when you are using the weapon that gave you those mods. For example, if you have Pistoleer and Fencer then your dodge bonuses will work anytime you use one-handed weapons or pistols, but not if you use any other weapon.

So, taking this into account? Would Carbineer and Swordsman's counterattack mods stack? At least up to 125? Then it's pistols and fencing for Dodge and Rifleman/pikeman for block...but TK is stuck without a stacker then...
Can I get confirmation on this...is there a better discussion thread?

each melee and ranged profession has an evasion skill.
Fencer + Pistols = Dodge
Swords + Carbs = Counterattack
Pikes + Rifles = Block
TK has a mod called defensive acuity which gives us the chance to do any one of those three things, although i have never personally seen myself block anything.
So to answer your question, TK does NOT have an evasion mod that stacks with any other profession. It is the ONLY melee profession without the ability to stack an evasion mod witha ranged profession. CONFIRMED.

Yes it does.
The only deffense you don't get from it is the Dodge. You still get the Rranged Deffense, the Melee Deffense, as well as the State Deffenses. Just not the Dodge.

yeah, secondary defenses (defense vs. KD, posture change, and states) stack regardless of profession as do melee and ranged defense. the evasion skills are the ones TK can't stack.

defensive acuity is broken. This mod does NOT activate in combat, and therefore running a CoB macro to increase it is a waste of HAM. TKs have one better than all the other professions. Unarmed toughness is +60 (+65 at master brawler I think) which is a flat 60% (or 66%) damage reduction, no matter what. Because our defensive modifier is broken, unarmed toughness was drastically increased to cover the gap DA was fixed, which never happened. Ever notice how if another TK is pounding on you with your stun baton out and if you switch to your VK, the damage goes down dramatically? That is because of unarmed toughness.

i thought it was because comp has 80% kinetic, and 30%(if lucky) stun...

you are wrong. it does NOT work anywhere near aswell as dodge or counterattack, but I have tested it and it does, indeed, work.
edit: and the correspondent has stated previously that acuity not working as well as CA or dodge is working as intended.

Hello,
A question:are the defense mods from the Force defense tree (melee and ranged defense) stacking with other normal combat professions?
For example, will a TKM/MDef have the unarmed and melee defense from both profession?

The general defense mods will stack.
The real question would be: will COB stack with Aura?
