Thread: Top 5?
((Ni'za, I am frustrated, too, but I would be even more frustrated if Raven asked me every week what our issues are when nothing at all had changed. That would make me feel that answering the week before (or however often you want him to ask) was completely worthless. (Well, moreso than the developers completely ignoring us makes it feel worthless.
Him asking us again what our issues are before any of our issues have changed would be like someone mixing you a drink and asking you how you like it. You tell them "Gah! It is way too strong!" Without them getting you a different drink or doing anything to yours, you want them to ask you how you like it again? Why?
As I understand it, Raven is no one special. He doesn't get paid for being correspondent. He has absolutely no power to directly affect the game in any way. What is his position is to act as a conduit of communication between the players of the profession and the developers. If they are actively or through gross negligence ignoring him, there is nothing he can do. I would much rather see him being honest and tell us he is being ignored, as he has been telling us, than see him try to be a cheerleader asking us what our issues are every week, then flushing those issues down the toilet because they do just as much good there as they do anywhere else considering the current priority the developers are assigning to us.
I don't mean this as an attack, I am just giving my point of view. I would much rather Raven keep doing things, and trying as he is. Continually asking for my feedback when it won't do any good at all will wreck my morale (I can only speak for me), and make me decide that it isn't worth it to give feedback at all. At least with things how they are, we know who is ignoring our feedback - and it isn't Raven.
And I don't think asking for feedback on the same issues over and over will make them suddenly see that it is an issue, because honestly I don' think they come here much. There has been enough talk about AFK macroing that if that theory was true, they would have responded to it - they haven't. The only thing bringing up the issues over and over without change would do is to make even more gripe session threads, like all those AFK threads. Personally, I would much rather see more threads like the dance school thread and things that can make my gameplay more fun. Griping here doesn't make it more fun. It bumps down the useful posts, and I definitely believe that if the devs are going to ignore our correspondent, then a bunch of issues threads aren't going to suddenly make them see the light.
All that said, I totally understand your frustration, and share it, too. I just don't think the fault rests on Raven. I think it rests firmly on those who are supposed to be communicating with him. I hope you don't take any of this the wrong way.))
speaking of which lunch sounds good
Verily, I say unto you. The Top 5 are forever. Yea, the Pikemen shall suffer, yet the Almighty Dev Team shall not hearken to their pleas. For in the beginning were the Top 5, and thus they shall be even until the end.

The last time you asked for "issues" from the community was in November. I'm not saying that anything new has popped up but don't you think that you should at least go through the motions at least once a month?
No offense but... what the heck for?
The developers asked for a top 5 list. We gave them one. They didn't answer it. After a while Raven said, "OK, things have changed, let's make another top 5 list." We compiled another. Gave them that. They STILL didn't answer the first. Now they haven't answered the second either.
What good does making new top 5 lists every month do? If we keep hitting "reset" on it the Devs will have the excuse, "by the time we get to it you change it every time so it isn't worth even looking at it."
No, the top 5 list needs to stand as is until it is answered. If some major change comes along then we can discuss it but so far nothing new has been added to or subtracted from the profession (we have not been touched at all since the second round of buffs was put in, as far as I know). So there is nothing new to say on the matter. Raven's doing exactly what he should be doing... pestering them on the old list until they answer it to our satisfaction (or, since we know they'll never do that, at least answer it in some fashion or other, however unsatisfying this may, ultimately, be).
Ravenmist cannot make the developers start paying attention to our profession. You must understand we are one of the smallest ones and, to put it bluntly, one most of the other players in the game sneer at (at best). Most players want mind wounds and BF taken out of the game, and entertainment with it. They are loud, vocal, and occur in much larger numbers than we do, so the developers listen to them.
You want Ravenmist's voice to carry more weight? Then the number of dancers and musicians and entertainers in the world who are serious about the profession and play it properly and well, would have to increase a thousand fold. Without that, Raven's just someone representing a tiny sliver of audience that the developers, realistically, can safely and indefinitely ignore. Even if we all go away, nobody will care, because there will always be AFK heal-bots to heal people up. (Which, incidentally, is quite likely the reason they refuse to address that issue -- it shuts everyone up and is the easiest thing for them to do on all counts.)
This is not Ravenmist's fault. And I think it shows both poor form and a lack of knowledge of this forum's history to blame him.
