Thread: Can anybody actually use knockdown, then another hit?

have you tested it out yourself? I do this everyday, and I swear that it doesn't cause a 5 second timer. I call myself a master pikemen because I am, and have tested this. Do you believe the word of the dev. notes? They're wrong half the time, test it out yourself, before you come here to insult me.

oh, and it's Master Pikemen..not master pike men, if you're going to pretend to be a skilled pikemen, at least know how to spell your own class <rolls eyes>

hehe, ok, one more post =P

"Decreased knockdown delay to 5 seconds. Knockdown adds a 5 second delay to your queue. "

That's the quote, smart guy. Now, tell me what that means? It's ambiguous, because the patch notes are worded in an unclear manner. As most people who've gone to school know, 'you' in that sentence can mean many things. It can be talking about the person you're hitting, or the person being hit. Also, NOTICE the 'decreased' knockdown part. Now tell me, DID WE EVER HAVE A DELAY OF MORE THAN 5 seconds? If not, then how can it be decreased???? Because they're talking about the person being hit, not the person hitting. The person being hit, often fell down for more than 5 seconds, their queue was delayed for more. This patch 'decreased' the knockdown delay to 5 seconds instead of 20 like it used to be.

So with that said, please, stay in school.

I'm pretty sure that the notes stated that the target was decreased to being effected by the KD for 5 seconds, and the person performing the move would have a 5 second delay added to their combat que. Since a mob couldn't have a 'que' per se.

I assure everyone, that you do not have a 5 second delay....just look at the wording, it doesn't even make sense to 'decrease' the queue delay, if there wasn't one before...erg =P just test it yourselves, you'll see it.

Ooooookaayy, we'll test it. But when have the devs ever been about making sense? If they were, we wouldn't have many of the problems that we do now.

I think the problem acrtually with KD is that when a mob/PJis KD he can still move.

And that is wreid. If the Pj/mob wasn't able to move during the kd timer we couldhave time to place a hit when he is in KD state (down on the floor).

It may depend on the mob too. I know for a fact, that I canPolearm Sweep1 a mob and get off a Polearm Hit2 before they get back up. The easiest way to tell isn't by seeing if the mob has gotten up or not, but by the damage you are putting out. Normal PolearmHit 2's for me are anywhere from 150-1k normally, but the first one after a successful PolearmSweep1 does around 1.5x more. Take it with a grain of salt, but I do agree that you can get 1 hit off before they get back up. It may have to deal with speed of your weapon, any +speeds from high skill in Pikemen, or some other myriad assortment of stats, but it can be done.

Hmm Im using a trap to make a mob dizzy then using lunge 2 to KD and they never stay down long enough for a second hit. kind makes KD pointless I think or is there a way to keep the mob down for a hit

anyone know? Im new to all this melee stuff

Wow...this is kind of an old thread.

Creatures don't keep falling down if they're dizzy, only NPCs. If you warcry them (NPCs or creatures), they will stay down for the duration of the warcry (10 seconds for warcry1, 20 seconds for warcry2).
