To be completely honest, I chose Pikeman because everyone else on Bria is a Master Swordsman
Everyone and their grandma was a pikeman on Lowca, but most of them gave up halfway into the grind, and most of the ones who made it to master ended up dropping it for a better PVP profession... people on Lowca have compensation issues they have to work out through superiour PVP.

I still see a serious amount of DOTer Pikemen on Lowca, just check out Coronet and engage in any faction overt fights, you'll get dotted in seconds by just about anyone these days. I've stopped doing PVPs mainly because of that (even as a doctor), DOTs really need a reduction in PVP.

I think it's funny as hell to see all these fencer/docs running around thinking they're unbeatable, then they run into a pikeman and change profs 2 weeks later.

Yeah, it's kind of sad . . . lol, I started Pike back in August of last year, but had to give it up for Politician. I finally started an alt and made him a Pike so I could finally finish what I had started, and was very excited because now they were so few and far between, or so I thought.

A smart one should be able to beat you np serenius, even with that 800 max LVA or whatever it is.
But that would entail a 1v1 fight, and LFD are never 1v1![]()

I went Pikeman about 1 1/2 month ago for a simple reason:
I was looking for a fun creature-focused PvE melee profession for my ranger, as I already had a swordsman and did try fencer and tkm before and didn't like it I naturally tried Pikeman and found it to be the most fun PvE prof I did until now :-).

The dots really aren't that powerful so I don't think it's that. I know I recently picked it up because it's something I haven't done before, there aren't many on my server, and I am sick to death of getting nerfed (stealth nerfed) and dealing with spams from people who can't fight calling me an exploiter and whatnot.
I mean, who in their right mind would call a Pikeman an exploiter?

i still dont see many masters on bria, in cnet i see maybe 4 on a good day, but a whole lot of novices. but maybe i'm not looking in the right places. and i did some prof exploring and i can make any combat prof suck at pvp
so pike is still my weapon of choice for pve when i make my move back into ranger

Oh, I know it is. Every single master pike I still see running around, well, almost every single one, on lowca are usnig 200-400 power mind fire pikes, then spamming Warcry until the guy is at 1 mind. It's retarded, takes forever to do, but it works. Until the patch anyways.

On farstar pike was also fotm ffor a while, couldnt travel anywhere wihtout getting training requests. . but then it stopped, so I think people stopped, dont se that many pikes around although they are more common then before.
I gotta say I love all the area attacks in PvE, and it works great as a "aggro-catcher" in groupplay.

We're fotm cause we're cool...well, at least I am. Seriously, though, over the last month there has been a dramatic increase in ppl asking me for pike raining.
