no offence but you sound like an old grandpa "them damn kids and their dot weaps, pikeman is not meant for that, (grumbles)" so what if pikes has some good dot weaps and people are just now realizing its impact in pvp, i personally think its nice for a change to see a pvp player with an lva out rather then a stun baton or a jawa ion. honestly what does it hurt other then what your ownpersonal idea of what a pikeman should be?

I have no problem with people using dots. My problem are the people who dont give a damn about the proff and are only here for dots, which a large majority seems to be. Of course it doesnt hurt them. It hurts us. Weve had real issues for a VERY long time, and those are being swept under the carpet by everyones eyes gleaming with fire and poison dots. And as for what pikeman should be, well thats not for me to say. But im sure were not supposed to be the mini me's of CMs. And i would be willing to bet that the ones who see pikeman as the cm with a stick are the same ones who couldnt live without their precious dots.

I also agree with Annelid0. Using DOT's doesn't make you a very skilled player, nor does it make you a no-skill loot monkey. You can't compare them, they're two different values to PvP. How I see it: You'll be able to tell a skilled player with or without DOT's; that will be the player using states and posture changes while they're hitting you with DOT's.

its still dumb that with master fencer/master rifle with 0404 brawler i use my dinky dot pike more than fencer.... <_<

I think the dabblers that pick up Pikeman skills SOLELY for the purpose of using DoT's kinda gives us Master Pikemen/women a bad name.
Still remember the day when I used a dot on a large group of Rebels about 7 or 8 (only 1 saw the funny side of it), the others claimed that Pikeman are unskillfull, the reasoning behind it isbecause I used a Mind Poison DoT (6 of these people were Master CM's or had some skills in CM). So to resolve this issue here is what I did ..
I challenged each one of them to duel me 1 on 1 .. no DoT's but obviously CM's were allowed (back in June, no poison/disease resists). Each one of them met there doom at my hands, and i was soo happy 
probably one of the best days of my SWG gaming Xperience.

People make PvP look alot harder htan it is with all of their "morales" and "dignitiy" they even call upon these words after they just ganked you and said... "well you did it first".... here are the rules to PvP.....
LAST MAN STANDING, WINS. period. DoT's are strategy, just like using intimidate, stun, dizzy, kd, blind etc.
it dosnt matter if you were unbuffed and lagging when 4 jedi come in and kill you. you die, you die. In Funk's amazing words: Red = Dead
So all in all DoT's are fine give the little buggers that grief u after using DoT's a taste of /addignore then go have a smoke. hmmmm that feels much better to get all that rage out.

heh, using teh dots is a fair way.. dot em up, and switch to swordsman and just pound their mind. its not like other professions dont have dots. theres rifleman on my server with 300str mind fire dots on some looted DXR rifles... fencers also have an assload of poisons to use on their janta/stone knives. and whatever else. just tell em to piss off. and pick up doc.
