I too have seen more, but others have left as well on Lowca, my Master who I trianed from, dropped Pike, and another has as well...

...I see more people running around with Pike weapons equipped, but I know they do that just to look cool =P

I'm definately seeing a rise in the Pikeman population on Valcyn.

I used to be THE pikeman on Ahazi. Many people come up to me and say 'Hey legwand you still doing the pike thing. Man you were a pikeman way back'. I've lots of people come up to me asking how things are going saying they hunted with me way back when (I've no clue who they are, I meet so many people daily I'll have to be forgiven for forgetting their names) and only remember me because I was the first pikeman they had ever seen.

Now things have changed. Every day I'm assaulted with tells from people wishing training/advice. I help all those out that I can. I don't mind being bothered. Lets me see all the new pike faces. More often I go around cities and see people carrying vibro lances. I know they can't be just brawlers. What made them take up the pike (damned holos I'd imagine). I personally have trained about 15 people in master pikeman in the last month or so. Of those people only one is still a master pikeman and even he will be dropping the skill soon enough. Hes having a hard go of it though because he loves the profession.

The other suprising thing is that many of the people who I'm training aren't doing it for holos. There is a large group out there who think that maybe pikeman is the next profession to get a lot of dev-loving. Maybe they know something that we don't.

I sure hope so.

Yeah, I've had several people tell me they were taking up pikeman because they thought it was awesome (no arguing there) and was the next big thing. /shrug. Also, a few comments about wanting to pvp with it, area dizzy+area kd = good times, they think. Problem is, that never happens in pvp.

I'm not sure where all these pikemen came from. Tonight I saw3 morethat I've never seen before...

I took a nice screenshot of me standing with two other master pikeman outside the Theed starport last night heh. So I guess there are more on Eclipse too. We're getting harder and harder to ignore with every pikeman that joins the ranks.

Yup, have to admit... I'm seeing more and more Pikers on Valcyn. I have to admit, I was one of the "holo-grinders" and I winced in sheer agony when that freakin cube told me I had to master Pike. Once I got into it and hit novice, I never looked back and I've been having fun ever since. I'm sure once more people realize this is a fun profession to play, we'll see more join the ranks. I know I'm keeping it.

the other reason you're seeing more, is because Rifleman/TKM/Fencer 4-0-0-0 Defence Stackers often take up Pike 0-0-4-0 to stack block.

Exactly, then they get to see just how great the HAM cost is and start to wonder how anyone would want to play the class when you can have all the goodness of TK for the same amount of points with very little of the fustration...

MaybeI am just blind, but on LowcaI see few Pikeman. I got into it for the hol grind and I will never give it up because we are truly bad ###. I know my Pikeman will be able to woop my Jedi's butt any day, whenI finally unlock it lol. I guessI also like the fact there were not many of us, and with the def mods we getalong with the mods for damg,I dont really see a big shift coming in of Pikeman. I could be wrong of course.

I remember when back in the day when Pikeman was so rare I didn't see another pikeman for weeks on my sevrer (Valcyn). Now within the last three weeks I've seen so many Pikeman around and people going Pikeman that it's insane. Everyone and their Pet Rancor is going Pikeman now.
