It depends.

Right now I'm 1-4-2-3 and I have2 PH's 1 for speed 1 for Damage. I mainly used my Speed hammer until I got to 4 in the Tech line. But now I'm starting to see that my speeds for my hammers are comparable.

unless you have some type of speed clothing get speed slices. I have +19 2h speed so I hit speed cap with my 5.6 hammer.

When I was making my way up the tree I carried two weapons (each on a hotkey). One was for speed and the other was for damage. For bleeds I would use the speed weapon and then switch to the damage weapon to finish the creature/npc off.

As a master swordsman I still use this tactic.

I go for damage, but I have SEA's for speed.

I would say damage at master and speed untill you get tech 3.

seas max at +25. But there are issues (i have a shirt that has +13 to intim and warcry which lists as +33 on my skill chart <shrug>

seems to me the issues is really speed vs. damage vs. accuracy when discussing swordsman weapons, the latter very important in pvp...

im new to sword as well. but at this point, i can def. say that i prefer speed. as i build up that might change.

Alderonn -- retired from a sadly broken game. my return is dependant upon SOE's ability to make this in to the great game it can be, or leave it broken. i imagine it will be the second option.
