In-game knowledge base (ctrl+h) issues:

  • Ranger profession description

    • It mentionsthat high-level camps repel agressive creatures. They don't

    • It mentions that Camo works vs NPCs, which is bugged/no longer true

    • Suggest that foraging gets better as level increases, while in practice there is little difference.

  • Other issues

    • Mission Descriptions: The hunting missions from explorer mission terminals are not included

    • Resource Tree: The description for horns says that they can be harvested off of creature corpses. This isn't true, they cannot be harvested at all.

    • In the finding resources section of the crafting entry, there is a section that talks about foraging resources. It says that foraging can bring up organic resources. This isn't true, it currently only brings up weak food buffs.

That's just stuff from the ranger entry. I'll look through some of the other stuff and update this list later

Alrighty then...

For those that aren't aware, there is a Knowledge Base for answering questions about various SOE games available here:

I have been hounded by the CSR in charge of the project to check the accuracy, usefullness, consistency, etc. of the entries related to the Ranger profession.

I'm sure there are a couple members of the community that might be interested in running a few queries through the system and seeing what results you receive. Queries about things that you might be interested in, or a new player would be interested in finding out.

They areinterested inerrors in any of entries related to Ranger, out-of-date information, just plain incorrect answers, things like that...

If you feel that there is an question that should be in the Knowledge base, provide the question and the answer and I'll forward it on to the Man.

Good Hunting.

Thank you for kicking off this post NRaas. The Knowledge Base in game is quickly growing to cover more and more topics and provide the most accurate information possible. On a daily basis entries are published to the Knowledge Base and any errors that are located are fixed and published.fficeffice" />

The exciting thing about the Knowledge Base is that the response time for the entries can be so swift. If you locate an error in the Knowledge Base and bring it to your correspondent we can fix it and have the corrected version in game within hours or even minutes of receiving that information. Any gaps in the Knowledge Base can also be quickly filled.

I’ve asked your correspondent to start a thread like this for two reasons. First the Knowledge Base is very important to us, but right now it is under utilized. I’m working with the Correspondents and the Developers to increase awareness for the Knowledge Base. Soon we’ll be changing some things in game to make the Knowledge Base a lot more visible.

That brings me to my second reason for coming to you – information that is as complete and accurate as possible. When the Knowledge Base becomes more prominent it will be vital for it to be as complete and accurate as possible. We have been working internally and with the Correspondent program to comb the Knowledge Base and add new entries. We would really appreciate it if you could point out anything that you find to be in error, out dated, or simply missing. If you think a question needs to be asked that’s not here please post it, or send it directly to your correspondent. We’ll work to get as many into the Knowledge Base as we can.

Thank you for your support and we really hope that you find the Knowledge Base to be a useful source of information. Please keep in mind that the Knowledge Base is intended to provide information about systems and policies but will not provide direct spoilers.

For quick answers to many game play questions, you may want to first reference the knowledge base located in the Holocron Menu. You can do so by selecting the customer service option and then using the knowledge base tab. We have recently added hundreds of new FAQs and answers and more will be added more daily, so give it a try!

The CSR's responsible for maintaining the Knowledgebase have asked us to assist getting the KB up to date and adding any information that is missing or inaccurate. Your help would be appreciated in this effort. If you get a chance take a look at the knowledge base and post here with any issues or new information. Please save any complaints, feature requests, flames, general comments for other threads and try to keep this on free just for updates and new information for the KB.

You can access the knowledgebase in two ways:

1. Web Version: http://help.station.sony.com/esupport/esupport/consumer/esupport.asp

2. In Game: Bring Up the Holocron (Usually CTRL H) then select the "Customer Service" button at the bottom left. The Services window that comes up defaults to the Knowledge Base tab.

When reporting a correction for a current article please include the Article ID and/or Title of the Article so it can be located easily for updating.

Thanks for your assistance in this project. Ultimately this helps everyone becuase the more answers that can be found there the fewer have to be answered either by us here or the CSR's on the phone or in game.

And many thanks to those who made this post possible.

I just wanted to stop by and say that we’re very thankful for all of the input we have received from the community. Over the last few weeks the Knowledge Base has seen literally thousands of new entries in every conceivable topic. Many of the best questions have come directly from these forums.

If you have not yet taken a look at the Knowledge Base I encourage you to do so. With Publish 7 (currently ontest centerand coming soon to a server near you) the Knowledge Base will be more visible with some User Interface changes that are going in. We also hope to further revamp the User Interface for the Knowledge Base in the next few publishes following 7.

If you have questions regarding game systems, even if you know the answers to those questions or think they are silly, please either post here or work with your correspondent to get those questions to us. The more information we can put in the Knowledge Base the more useful it will be for all of us. We are also interested in feedback on existing entries from typos to incorrect wording or information. Bring those to your correspondent as well.

Finally I want to stress again that the Knowledge Base is one of the items in Star Wars Galaxy that we can update and modify whenever we choose. If you see that the Knowledge Base doesn’t cover a topic, or covers it poorly, get your correspondent’s attention and we’ll look at it. Changes made to entries are instantly visible in game and on the web site.

The link to the knowledge base out of game is http://station.sony.com/kb or you can find it in game by opening your Holocron (CTL H) and clicking on the Customer Service button in the lower left.

Please read through the knowledge base via in-game holocron, and post here any errors or things that are missing.

Thank you.

Under Professions->Advanced Professions->Pikeman, it says pikemen can 'inflict blindness', which we obviously cannot. It also says something about gaining speed and accuracy to be lethal with a polearm. I have no idea where they got that.

LMAO.

Ummm, son? This is athread for knowledge base errors. The knowledge base is a feature of the in game holocron system that answers questions on various subjects.

Your problems are in-game errors that a) are well known and b) have nothing to do with the knowledge base.
