Nice work
I'm going to float this to the top....
Seeing as how you are away for a few days, Gunman, and since for some reason the float didn't stick, I took the liberty of floating it for you. I hope you don't mind. I wouldn't normally do this but you implied you wanted it done, and I just wanted to help.
Question : What powerups should I use on my weapon?
Answer: Find a Master Artisan and have some good poerups made from him. You are looking for -32% Health (for LVA) or -32% Action (for Lance and VL)/16% Speed or Damage. The speed or damage thing is upon you (take what you feel you are more comfortable with), but you *WILL* need those HAMdecreasing abilities of powerups.
Question : What type of buffs should I use and *WHEN*?
Answer: Buy some Tatooine Sunburn and Angerian Fishak Surprise. Buy some Muon Gold. If you are PVPing, then use them when you await a fight. If you are just into PVE (like me), then you have3 choices:
1) Migrate your stats into mind and use Sunburn for putting down the HAM costs.
2) Migrate your stats into Strength and QuicknessUse Fishak to supllement your Mind.
3) Migrate your stats as someone already mentioned above and use them both.
Good thread...really making me think about doing Pikeman over Carbines again -- I did already do Carbines afterall.
With Master Doc, I could do pretty well as a Pike.

Q. What kind of armor is best for pikeman?
A. None of course, any armor you wear will be decayed to nothing in a matter of days from your repeated deaths. In fact no clothing at all is the way to go why spoil master tailored items with nasty decay.
I used to feel this way until I got a good set of Advanced Composite. With buffs, which are really required to wear the suit, I can tank for friends to level against a half dozen pickets for several minutes if need be.
One of the most amazing things I've seen is a Master Pikeman with 90% Composite and buffs standing toe to toe with a 350k HAM Night Sister Elder for 10 minutes. Of course a good set costs a small fortune.

Currently I am doing enraged rancor missions on dathomir which gives me around 32k of xp per mission coupled with 36,000 credits per mission so the payoff is quite good.
A: You are correct, they are totally sweet now as they use the force and still drop some pretty whicked Lances and Axes for us PikeMen(Women) to use and love. The Sisters are found on Dathomir, and they come in a variety of styles
The Nightsisters can drop nasty items like these...
Here is how I was doing these with ease last night.
1. Get a good doc buff
2. Buy a crate of muon gold
3. Buy a crate of Fishak
4. Buy a crate of neutron pixie
5. Use either a delirious merek avenger or Toxic Merek Battlelord as they have light armor and 40-45% kinetic resists.
ok.... so you arrive at your mission. Just before you send your pet in pop a shot of muon and a shot of pixie. If your buff was good enough you should have about 4500 Health and about 4k of Action. Send your pet in to pull the agro, there will be 2 rancors there and sometimes they you can get them to agro each other. Bring your pet back to you and then send him in when they are in range of you. Bleed both rancors and then just goto town on 1 of them while the other is bleeding. By the time you finish 1 the other should be just about half dead. Finish off the other one spamming leg hit. Just before you decide to start taking out the lair pop your fishak as you dont want to suffer a muon downer in the middle of fighting. If the pixie wears off your buff will still leave you with over 2k of Health and action.
If you do get aggro'd by the rancors I would recommend using your KD attack, this gives you enough time to send your pet after the one that is aggro'ing you and pull the agro back to him. Your going to get aggro'd no matter what but the key here is to keep the focus on your pet.
Hope this helps all. BTW last night I started as a 2,0,1,3 pikeman and left a 3,0,2,4 Pikeman.

ah, so they spawn in packs of 2 each time? I mean, you get to fight a total of 6 Rancors from each nest? That sounds like a lot of fun!

Money, Power, a jedi craves not these things.

Q: after i dizzy/kd a humanoid then use hit3, why does the mob always stand up? same with kd/warcry creatures.
A: hit3 is posture changing in every direction: up, down, left, and right.
Solution: try using area2 because it has the same damage multiplier as hit3. or hit2 which has a damage multiplier very close to hit3.
Q: why wont you duel me?
A: ok i'll show you why. *procedes to duel using lva, getting down to no ham using specials that miss followed by one shot from the novice marksman finishing the job*
Solution: use a basic lance for debuffs and kds and the heavy hitting weapons for the hits you want to count.
Q: what powerups to use?
A: LVA: max damage for pve and pvp against non melee mitigation ppl and min damage against melee mitigation ppl. health/mind cost depending on if u have med skills or not.
VL: (not much experience with them so i may be off a bit) same for damage as LVA. action/mind cost depending on if u have med skills or not.
BL: same as lva cept always go for max damage, wont add a significant number to min damage.
Q: stat migration?
A: (imo) since i wouldnt be lieing saying most pikeman have novice med max out focus/willpower, then strength and quickness, then put a bunch into your mind and the rest into health and action pools. regen isnt needed if you're a med so const/stamina should only be adjusted to fit your armor on if u really really really wanna do that.
Q: should i use armors?
A: only if you're buffed but if you do really wanna do it i wont stop you, really go ahead i dont care *cries*
Q: im in the brawler tree still, what should i hunt?
A: yard trash for first 2 levels at least, maybe even third. another option for third would be something like normal shaupauts on naboo. for 4th level anything under 2k ham usually does the trick and wont be too hard to take down solo.
Q: what to hunt for novice box?
A: *huggles a scyk*
Q: Im a novice, what should i hunt?
A: *tries to think upmore bs* how bout.... *ponders* ..... *thinks of saying rancors but knows they wont buy it* .... how bout ..... go to mission terminal and hunt whatever pops out when u hold a polearm at it. the big butterflies on naboo.
Q: im a li'l more than novice, what to hunt?
A: group on dant
the pickets taste good. also you could do greater desert womp rats or.... giant sand beetles, quenkers, huurtons, etc...
Q: yay i qualify for a skill box! now where is someone to train me?
A: sadly you might not find someone to train you
there are trainers in mos espa, tatooine, and theed, naboo. there's at least 2 more but i have no clue where they are.
I have found that having my 2 best friends as a Master Doc and a Master Combat Medic, I am their pet. I make **edit** near 200k exp per 5 hours on Endor. I usualy get between 2500-4300 per kill. The three of us can handle 3 10k HAM creatures at once.
I have found that this makes playing a Pikeman a lot more fun.
I wear 70% Ubese, and use a 109-368 VL.
Not doing too bad, but I want a much more damaging weapon.
I find that if you refrain from specials all the time, just taunt, intemidate, and go berserk. I use specials to put them on their asses if I get adds, and the occasional stun.
