Good to know there are fencers out there like you who understand both the geat weaknesses and strengths of your profession. Seems like Fencers (except for this one Zion dude maybe) pretty much have a good feel for the balance they have in the game as a profession. And thats great to hear. Now if only we can get some more of you guys to talk some sense into the TKA community STILL bitching about getting AP2 and 3 weapons, stun damage and ANOTHER increase to unarmed damage...... grrrrrr

fencer is fine how it is. it amazes me sometimes of the ideas some of them are coming up with. I do believe however that their single AP1 weapon should be slightly more powerful, and not look like a kitchen knife.
Swordsmen should get an AP3 weapon
Pikemen should get a little more speed and accuracy and perhaps a new damage type.
Does he want this newAP2 sword to be stun damage?
Somehow someway I just know he does.

Fencer should be restricted to AP1, they already have amazing speed and defenses.
Swordsmanstay atAP2, they have fast devastating attacks on single and multiple targets.
Pikeman should have AP3, compared with all other melee proffs pikeman moves are slower and/or less damaging.

Trash huh? Actually, the fencer community is more polite then you are. Case of the pot calling the kettle black here.
And surprise, for each person who thinks like you, there were 10 or more on those boards who felt differently, and posted as such in the fencer forum for as long as I have been on there. All I did was compile all those gripes and wishes into one post, and add a couple of my own (which I have admitted, needed refining, which is why I put them forth as ideas, not the final say so on them. Seems you are the one who is out of touch with the community...

Normally you can tell how good a profession is by how many people play it or talk about it. I always here great things about TKA and Fencer proffesions, not so much with the Swordsman or Pike professions, in fact I always have people asking me if Pikeman was a holo for me (which it wasnt).
Myself I cant wait to try the fencer proffesion, it looks fun and sounds like people have fun with it. There may be a few bugs with the proffesion of course but nothing game breaking or to cause it to be "a grind".
I feel that in PvE the pikeman does quitewell (little disapointed at not being the hardest hitting melee but i'll get over it
), however in PvP (which this game pushes a lot heavier than other games) the Pikeman is underpowered without the properly looted items.
The fencer class doesnt need to blur combat class lines, they have a role as a quick and agile fighter that is heavy on avoidance/defense. Thier damage is light and fast, with some very good damage types for PvP. The PvP aspect alone makes up for not recieving an AP2 weapon.

The whole idea of an AP 2 weapon was dropped earlier in the thread vince was talking about. I created the post he quoted as a starting point, not a be all, end all. Before vince got to that thread, we had a pretty productive discussion going, and people were filling me in on balance issues and other things.
Seriously, I don't understand the fixation on AP 2 when it was dropped very early in that thread. Its as if people don't read the whole post. Kinda maddening....
