I am taking turns leveling two characters in melee weapons. One I am doing on Dantooine (Starsider) and the other on Endor (Chilastra). Each is a different experience, but I can't say one is 'faster' than the other. Mereks are more experience, but if the wrong type of merek is nearby (battlelord, toxic, etc.) it will aggro your tail and you're looking at poison, almost certainly.

But then you run the same risk of catching the wrong voritor on Dantooine, so ... yeah.
