Yeah that's pretty sad...I prob use more dots than most, but 90% of the time they're action dots. I do like to give people a fighting chance, and if it's a duel the first thing I ask is dot or no dot, and either or I'm still gonna duel. If I were to fight this person I'd kd them, pikes get kd'd easily. I'd also take a dbl buff vercuppti and a muon and the standard 2 brandy, if 6k mind can't do it, I dunno what would, after the kd just kite em with a rifle, no need to give a person like this a chance in hell of getting near you. Also if you've got a 313 mind fire and will only duel on tatooine, you've just admitted you are teh suck right there....

I'll use a DoT weapon only if I get a DoT used on me; which, given the nature of PvP in SWG, happens all the time. So, mind fire first, mind poison second, switch to power hammer or scythe and head hit until they are down.

I normally don't like using DoT weapons, but if I get one applied to me, I'll be damned if I won't use one in return.

The blowing it out of proportion was sort of the point, reductio ad absurdum. You don't support exploiting or crushing old ladies despite being able to, why support using DoTs just because you're able to?

The same thing happens in-game with anything some people consider "wrong", special attacks included. Back when you could spam KD after KD without a timer there were people who wouldn't do it, despite it being a guaranteed win. Just having an ability doesn't mean you have to (or even should) use it.

you got a valid point but you have to be able to see my point of it.what i'm trying to say is that if it was the only way to win why not use it?def stacker vs. def stacker..the one that used a DoT wins the dual....that probably didn't make sense but i just got home and i'm kinda tipsy and it's 2:04am haha

I have like 30 some odd DOT lances in mmy inventory... half of which Ive looted. I dont/cant use the majority ofthem, as Ive got like 8 action poisons, 4 action fires, 4 infinite use mind poisons... So I only use like 4-5 lances. Oh, and mah duel NSELs.

I don't use DOTS because I don't PVP but I have some unlimited use 300 mind poisons on my wall for decoration.

I never have dot weapons on me - I have a feeling they will soon be the way of the dodo bird.

Then you must use a looted 800 +LVA witch is the same in my book thay are both looted . Or you fighting noods.

I'm master pike/master brawler and I have an 800 damage LVA (950 pup'ed for pvp) which does as mentioned earlier, 30-50 or so damage or 100-200 to unarmored people. Let alone if I can even hit them in the first place (dodge stackers I can hit maybe 1/3 times if they are intimidated), while they hit me for a constant 2-300 mind damage. ".. but you block it!" doesn't have much of an effect other than delaying your death.
I don't use dot's in pvp much unless I have a vendetta, as they generate so much whining and arguing that it takes the fun out of it, I was even reported to csr once for mind poisoning a tkm/fencer because the only way (according to him) for a pikeman to beat him was to cheat and exploit. Not that I take it personally, but I like it when people are good sports after duels and don't take it so seriously.
Don't get me started on the states. I'm so easy to kd/dizzy that people kd me first and then dizzy me as I'm falling. On occasion when I manage to dizzy/kd someone else they seem to be able to stand anyway.


Conclusion, I don't pvp much

I'd trade every damn DOT I have for the removal of mitigation and the 75% PvP reduction.
