I dislike the reason most people are Pikeman, which is DOT weapons.

DOTs are part of the game...And part of the Pikeman proffession...Funny...You dont see Combat Medics complaining about there DOT capabilities....Withthe new buffs starting to roll out you might see less Pikeman...But who wouldnt pass up the ability to Mind Fire someone with an uber DOT stick...And the best pike weapons are looted unlike the other proffessions, which are made...

I hav ebeen a pikeman for a littl eover a month now, and here is a little story of why. I kicked the crap out of soem night sisters and got an LVA w/o a DOT, and thought hey cool, pikeman might be fun. SO i dropped fencer and all the non defense parts of TKa and started my level experienc ein Pikeman. I have got about 11 DOT weapons, but I never use em, they sit in my house collecting dust looking cool. I love pikeman, I am having more fun as a pikeman doinf PvE than I ever had as a fencer/tka in PvP an dPvE combined. I don't see as nearly Pikeman as some of yall do on my server, I wear my master Pikeman tag all the time, and onyl have had 5 people ask for training. If other playters want to becoem pikeman, cool, that is all right with me. Maybe we will start to get the attention we deserve from the DEVS.

I too am a fairly new Master Pikeman. Actually, the reason I chose Pike was because I was fed up with being one of 10000000000 TKM's, and being soley restricted to kinetic damage. So I mastered brawler and decided I liked Pike the most out of the 4 profs, and mastered pike after a month or soI guess. Tell you the truth, I had no idea we had DoT weaps at the time. I happened to loot a pretty goodone by pure good fortune, and I use it for PvE entirely - I never PvE. And I also really liked the fact that Pikemen were few and far between - I hated being someone that, when you looked around all you saw was TKMs like yourself. I'm liking master pike a lot...I love fighting the environment, and pike excels at that.

Pikeman is starting to become FOTM on StarSider. I technically could be considered in this category since I've only been a Pikeman for a couple months now. However, I don't understand why there is a sudden rush to become pikeman. The weapon switch delay and the resist buffs are two very large inhibiting factors on pikeman, not to mention the inherent drawbacks to the profession (aka speed and accuracy).
Oh well, I really like the profession and find it very effective. That's all that really matters.

Yup been Pikeman since early May, There were very few pikeman then. All of a sudden i saw a HUGE increase in dabblers but not really the masters.
The Dabblers are ruining our profession and should be burnt

ya, one of thing i liked about pikeman when i started to be one was no one asking me to teach anything. ya i got nagged on for being a pikeman cause they were pretty rare on my server but lately i've gotten so annoyed with people wanting me to teach them stuff i've started to say i don't teach or i'm in the middle of no where killing really big stuff lol. it's sad and mean i know but i did teach them in the beginning, but once i came across my 1000th master fencer asking to teach them support abilites for pikemani quit teaching people now. i used to see only my pike in coro but now i see far too many

I did pikeman because I wanted to do every profession that stems from the brawler tree (including smuggler and commando), which i recently completed with fencer. right now i am master brawer/fencer/pikeman and tka 4-0-0-0 and i must say that I am ready for just about any situation that arises be it pve or pvp. i've been melee for so damn long though, and i am tired of it. heh

Of course you don't see it as a bad thing. You're the guy he's talking about.
When you get bored in a few weeks you'll drop pikes (again) and go on to whatever profession it is that catches your interest then.

Every prof, I'll repeat this EVERY PROF has dots but TK(they do but they're rare, and never seen a good one)...and if you say somethin like chef doesnt have dots, I'll cross-server smack you....
Just about everyone on ahazi is using dot weapons in pvp...Rifleman will lead with a dot, pistoleers, swordsman, FENCERS...I'm hit with more stone knives than pikes...I've seen a few carb dots too.
Jealousy is a terrible thing, so what you've been a pikeman for a year, you never bothered to get with the program, that's your own fault pal...this game is ever changing, people like to change things up to keep it fresh...what you want a no-dot game? Then stick with pve.
Another thing, the loot is catching up with the game, Day 2= no looted weapons, Day 400= there's alotta friggin loot out there...
With the armor out there, pikeman do as much damage to me as tkm's, swordsman, and fencers, stun armor sliced for eff. only accepting over 86% on yur pvp suit is a good idea, always re-equip your psg, stun eff. sliced of course, always intimidate, eat synthsteak, and be fully buffed, do this, I guarantee you'll draw everytime in a no dot duel with unlooted weapons...yeah draws are fun...I like to win, I use dots, and I'll use more of em than anyone else until the devs make me do something else, more and better than the next guy...
In closing, get with the friggin program, or cry more noob, cry and cry and cry until they take dots out of the game.

I know what you're saying. I was getting some cash the other day in a solo group and 3 of the people in the group were asking me for training. I picked up pikeman the first day I played back last august. I've never seen so many people asking for training at once. And one of the people in there starting asking where to get a mind fire lance. People were asking for these like weaponsmiths make them and they just need the right vendor. Of course, it could just be an isolated incident. Since when I told him to ask the nightsisters nicely if he could have one, he said that those things were tough and started asking anyone where he could buy RIS armor to fight them with. Even so, it makes my head hurt to know that some pikemen are like this.

I confess, I am a fairly new Pikeman (2 weeks). Since last August, my main toon had been Master Doc/Master pistoleer. I was happy with that combo, until my 2nd toon picked up BH pistols. It was then I realized Pistoleer by itself is nothing to get excited about. I wanted something a bit more powerful/cooler looking, and I felt Pike was a good choice. Originally I thought TKM, but they really are EVERYwhere, much more so than Pikeman. So to those that don't feel unique anymore, I'm sorry, I can relate. But rest assured that Pike will probably never be as plentiful as TKM or Swordsman
