First time you log on you will probably see a screen that looks like the Skill window, and you will be given a chance to respecify your template based on what you had before. You will need to take Unarmed 4 as well in order to get Pikeman.

Hrm, not much to say yet from the little testing I did last night. I went out and found a group and starting using a wooden staff. Liked the new effects, but it sort of seems like it's more "cartoon-ish"?
I don't like how ... going from Novice Brawler to the first box in Polearm, you get no new move (just center of being). It be nice to get at least one new move in that first box, so you feel like you've actually made progress.
Looking forward to trying it some more this weekend. So far, just keeping an open mind about it all.
You are granted Melee Strike at Polearms 2.
Learn pole1, then take 2handed1. In doing so you get the melee strike ability from the swords prof and are able to use it with the wood staff. Makes grinding out a lil easier, drop 2handed after you get pole2, or take it to master brawler. Same goes with other melee professions if they get pole1 they get CoB with it. I really like how the abilities are working out like that.
So by following the trees you can get a good idea on what will work with what. As it stands on test right now armor break (2handed4 atm) can be used with a pike/Mbrawler carrying any pike weapon. I think that cross profession ability set up is going to make things really interesting. You could have the same exact templates but engage and utilize your skills in two completely different ways.
XP is a lil slow but prolly for testing purposes. I think once the elite professions are opened up, people will really start to see how nice the new system will be.

Toughness has been removed. Defense hinges on ranged and melee defnese solely now. Jedi oughness is gone to and many are say they got royaly screwed by the nerf bat. If you want proof check out the jedi board and the test center board.
