so we are gonna go back, to one class is the best, and if you arn't taht class, then you better not fight nayone who is?


pikeman have absolutly NOTHING. Maybe they just want to make sure every one knows their role.

Why can't folks enjoy pikeman for the sake of pikeman? I was once a high level pikeman (4-3-1-4) and the only reason I'm not one now is I'm finding it difficult to find the time to get back into it with all the characters I'm juggling. I didn't care about stacked defenses, comparing myself to a TKA, rancor slaying uberness blah blah blah. All I cared about was once I got some decent accuracy mods this profession became a TON of fun. Why can't people just focus on that? Yeah I needed a full set of doc buffs to do anything but you can say the same thing for almost ANY melee profession not just pikeman.


And before I get the "if it was so much fun they why did you leave" question it's simple. I mastered TKA first and it also is fun and I didn't see the need to master 2 melee professions. I had not even spent a day as a master TKA when I started working on pikeman. I quit pikeman after a while to simply scale back and enjoy the Teras Kasi profession. My plan now is to create a new character and turn him into a pikeman/doc.

Because you'd have to be a sadist to get fun out of PvP'ing as a pure Pikeman. Sure, you don't have to PvP, but lets be honest, the only content in this game is player-made, ie. PvP.

Its true - - no more Defense stacking after the combat rebalance is done.


And FWIW, I didn't forget about the Pikeman. The Combat Balance should take care of most of your pain and the HAM changes will be coming soon (I dont know when yet. It involves some low level programming and some cross team cooperation. Since it touches so many other game systems, its a daunting item).


From there, Im speaking with the Dev who made the cool Sword item about making a great schematic to drop for you guys, but it is too early to tell yet. The trick is that a brand new weapon means new art, new development, etc. I simply can't come to you and say "we're working on it", but thats the deal atm.


We're focused on the Combat Balance, HAM first and that should really make Pikeman more fun. From there, Im reading your "10 questions" and going over the correspondent issues this evening to look at the high level view to see what we can do.

I wonder when we're going to hear about the benificial changes from this combat rebalancing. It just seems like one big nerf after another is leaking out.

Carbineer are in the same spot as Pikeman. All the Top 5 have to do with specials costs and thats all getting handled in the Combat Balance.


For BH's, Im focused on pushing the investigation tree fixes and the good news is that last friday, we fixed the Jedi names on the terminal from being confusing. I dont know if its done in time for Pub 6, but definately by Pub 7
