I've also noticed that if I get between the pet and the mob I get agro for sure. Try staying further away from the mob than the pat and off to one side a bit so if they move you don't land in the middle. Knock down (sweep) also seems to draw agro 99% of the time. Another thing I've had happen in each "tick" of a bleed (action hit) appears to re-agro the creature on me. This has been especially bad if I go incap, then everyone else goes incap, I stand up and in theory a lot of non-aggressive things should leave you alone until you re-attack. Not so with bleed, it takes damage from the bleed and starts looking around for me then wanders over and hits me before I've recovered my mind.

Stay 6m - 10m and spam specials. They won't aggro you unless you use an area attack when there is more than 1 that is attacking your pet and you hit one with an area attack.
