Most other pikemen I fought/dueled don't give fair warning and after the fight stand there gloating how good they are while when I check the combat chat they hit me all 5 times and each time they put a different DOT on me 
The DOT part of your post came out a bit strong and I get a bit jumpy when I read about those high DOT's

When you fight mobs with medium/high in armor, you notice the difference..
Go hunt some Black sun Assasins with a fencer and see who wins.
Sure we have not that great defences, neither do we have that good Crafted weapons, they are not balanced to the curent state of the game, but there is alot that is not that.
In PvP I have no idea since I dont do it.

Antares was the reason I became a Pikeman. I remember when I first started my hologrind, I met him and I always thought the LVA he carried was cool as hell, the animations of the specials he performed were awesome. So I decided I'd give it a shot - I got to xx22... and then I looted the evil red pyramid. SO needless to say I had to drop Pikeman and pick up Swordsman instead. I told Antares that when I was finished grinding for Jedi that I would pick up Pikeman again... which explains why now, 2 months after unlocking, I am still Pikeman. I may not be as good in PvP as I would like to be, but I have confidence that when the armor nerf comes into place and melee mitigation is removed, Pikeman will once again have a place among the other professions. I love the profession, no plans to drop it in the near future either.

I have some looted LVA's and VL's..but they didn't cost me millions upon millions. I think the highest I paid for a loot lance was 175,000; and that was for a mind fire VL that I use to torment Jedi. I'm not speed capped or have tons of accuracy tapes (too expensive), but some snow cake and I'm pretty well good to go. Granted, I don't PvP much, so I don't have the outpouring of $ that some people might have, but when I can go out and buy 2 519 max damage (crafted & damage sliced) LVA's for 40k apiece, I'm ecstatic.
As for the original poster's decision to drop Pikes, I'd have to agree with everyone else. You didn't give it a chance to be fun. Personally, I abhorr TKM, because it's an "I win" button profession (like Rifleman or CM), and it doesn't take much strategy to be good at. Pikeman however..just the sheer number of decent attacks and states we can lay on things, that's what makes it fun.
I've been TK and Fencer, and while the defense was good, they weren't any fun. Right now, I'm Swords/Pikes, and if I can't kill it with either a hammer, a scythe, an LVA or a VL, I probably shouldn't be hunting it.
But, if you think Pikes is such a lame profession and TKM was better, by all means, head right on back, I'll be happily doing mass KD's and dizzies and showing off all the nice animations we have.

Look at me for example. 404 health fire+300 health poison. 700 damage every 10 secs. not many can survive that. and it costed me only 2 mil =). And that weakest of arsenal. Big shout to MIND FIRE, 1000+ max damage pikes, walking sticks and so on. U get to have a trick for every situation.
Use wisely and put some head to it. Whining dont get u anything. Just love ur profession and uwill ALWAYS do better then the rest.
Consider that crap I wrote =) But belive it or not I havent lost a single duel since I'm pikeman. And thats over 3 month of constant PvP. Not a single. Not even to a jedi. Think about it before whining.
You didn't describe pikeman as a powerful profession, you described DOT's. Pikeman is not the most powerful melee profession out there, DOT's are, quit saying this stuff because it's keeping the dev's from getting us the fixes that we need. You may not have lost any duels yet, but I'm sure if you picked fencer or TKM and combat medic you'd be doing the same. It's not you who wins the duel it's yourDOT that does.

Hey, I resent that when I fight using TKM I use at least 7 different specials, it's only the FOTMTK's who take the easy way out and they lose everytime
That's about as many specials as I would use with Pike, but yes the real FOTM TKM's only use those 2 buttons, they haven't even heard of stun and intimidate

Please don't confuse having nice loot with knowing how to use the profession, they have nothing to do with each other.
Pikeman is slow because we lack any craftable weapon that gets any faster than about 3.7 seconds unsliced and because we have a speed mod of +75 at master (80 with master brawler). That is slow compared to the other 3 melee professions. Fencers and TKAs have a ton of speed, and swordsmen have the same speed as us but have some considerably faster weapons.
Slow is fine if we hit hard enough to make up for it.

Someone starts a thread that once again lists the problem the profession has, and you clowns just respond with the same "OMG DUDE U DONT HAVE TEH BESTEST LOOTED PIKEZ U N00B!" crap.

Just remember, a lot of us in this post have said we don't use DoT's. I save mine for Jedi, because they deserve it more than normal professions.
As for the original poster..he came in here spouting off how Pikes was inferior compared to TKM and whatnot. The two professions aren't even comparable in regards to defenses, toughness, speed, etc. Sure we can do the same damage range, but since we are allegedly so inaccurate and slow, it doesn't matter, right? That automatically makes us a crap-ass profession in their eyes.
Personally, if you are a TKM and want to brag about how superior it is, do it on your own forums, not here. So you didn't like Pikes, good for you..get out of the profession and let the rest of us have fun.

And with the damage at almost 600, I will remember to say hi to you as you lay on your back bleeding, dizzy and stunned. Ok there is a problem with pikemen currently is that are speed dmg ratios on our wepons are the lowest in the game i belive (when crafted) and why should pikemen be the ONLY proffession in the game that cant just get a good dmg sliced wepon from there local wepon smith and be balanced with other professions we have to get crazy ass looted pikes that are by no means cheap and speed tapes if we want to use our crafted pikes well. cause i know i cant outdmg a tkm on a tusken warlord and granted there are a couple mobs they cant hurt but most of them we cant hurt either w/o teh nsel wich is way to **edit**ing expensive to use on anything.
