Thread: Just how important is doc in your pikeman temp?

even with stims and foods, you should still have some doc in your template.


i knowa few who get by on stims most of the time, but 1 vs 1, my doc 4xxx wins me the duel.


plus,when i duel, i usually have some stims and ruby on me too, just in case the situation gets sticky.


best not to go the no healer route. unless your not looking to 1vs1 pvp.

being able to buff yourself also makes it very nice and tl heal your own wounds, u can practically stay healed no matter what u fight against, in a reasonable fight i dont mean go in and attack a kryat all by urself but you get the picture. i dont use master doc but this is effective enough 3x33

having doc 4-0-0-0 is a MUST for high end PVE. It is impossible to solo necrosis without it. the avatar, black scale compound, and dwb are much easier with doc 4-0-0-0. If you take say mpike, tkm, swords 0-0-4-4, you can solo krayts and gdk's, but when it comes to the elite high end content on kashyyyk and im assuming mustafar will also have equally high end content or even higher, you will go down quick without that doc branch.


remember, doc also gives a small ammount of ranged and melee defense so its not a total loss of defensive abilities.


been playing for a while and i must say that a group with all players being able to heal themselves well fares much better than 6 players using only stims and 2 players dedicated to healing the rest of the group.

Just gone from TKM / MP / Doc 4000 to TKM / MP / Swords 0034 / Master Brawler and I have to say that I don't miss the doc yet.


Just been grinding today to get used to not having any medic at all, which is a first for me, and the new attacks and went the whole day tanking and never even popped a stim. Took some turrets out this evening and healed twice, soI am going to stick my neck out and say for PvE stuff its possible.


I will be trying it in PvP later this week and will see how it goes. I only ever fight in groups and my general observation is that if I need to heal ingroup PvPI am 1 step from being dead anyway.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. For now, I'm going to stick with my MPike/MTKA/Sword0044 and see what happens. Although I'm still tempted to go with doc. I like not having to use armor, but I just got some Rebel Battle Armor, and I don't want to take it off. With my alt as an AS, armor isn't a problem, so I could drop TKA...i'll mess around with my current template and see what happens.

Oh and FYI - The chefs did some testing...the defense mods don't work like we think. The mod that applies is the weapon you are holding. So when holding a melee weapon (or just your fists) you use Melee def, but when you hold a ranged weapon, you use the Ranged Def mod. It is NOT what's attacking you, but what weapon your holding. So for us, only the melee def is what matters...I'll start a new thread with the quote about it.

well its not like its all that hard to regrind, just get in a spin group and youll be abel to redo it in one day easy, so go for it!!

I think you should go Master TK as the innate armor when only 0-4-4-4 isn´t exactly top of the lineThen get medic 0-0-1-0 and then a bandolier with +19 healing efficiency and you´re good to go

Doctor definately helps, any hardcore melee pvper will have at least 4004 doctor, self buff just rocks, and addrenal speed helps big time since sometimes swordsman and pike has relatively slow speed weapons.
