You can call it the GREATEST PATCH OF ALL TIME!! but that still doesn't change the fact that it's over a year late already.

/sitback_and_chill_with_a_beer_waiting_for_CU
I've got no trouble waiting for CU becuase I have some great m8s in my guild, so playing SWG is always a laff'.
I don't trust TH or any of the devs further than I can trhow them though (Which isn't very far because I'm a skinny geek =P )

I've been watching these conversations in several forums for some time now, and it occurred to me that most people don't understand the decisions that go into a software release.
Priority 1: fix broken stuff (considerations: game crash? is there a work around? how many people are affected? how hard is it to fix? how much code do we have to touch?)
Priority 2: fix annoying stuff, i.e. implement enhancements (considerations: how many people are affected? how often does the problem occur? how hard is it to fix?)
Priority 3: build cool new stuff that no one has thought of (considerations: how will it impact the game? will it attract new gamers? will it appeal to veterans? how long will it take? how much testing is involved?)
A release consists of a balance of these 3 priorities - and some negotiation between devs andthe product management team on how long everyone is willing to wait before releasing - since coders will happily code forever, until you tell them that they have to release something. (apologies to the coders in the audience - this is a bit biased by my product management experience)
As a product manager, I myself am always nervous aboutgivingout exact releasedates - because you create a release plan, code, then test - but something always goes wrong - which creates delays. Giving timeframes is a better idea - since you can set an expectation, and still have room to maneuver - if you need to change the plan.
Overall, I have been fairly happy with the releases; frequency and content - and realizing that this is a living, dynamic game, I think the dev group has been doing a pretty good job.
