Pikeman Archive

For me, it is a matter of long standing tastes. In whatever Role Playing game i have played I have used Polearms. Whe I started SWG I found the Pikeman were one of the rarest porofessions andI started grinding toward Master. This was before the DoT's made it the FOTM. Pike became my first elite profession and I will never drop it. Post CU I have found it to be very effective in PvE and I am beginning to get my PvP skills trained. I am looking forward to the future.

Good question! I was TKM/MD before the CU. No problem at that point. Then with the CU I tried MD/Fencer/Swardsman/ and Brawler. Good skills but just could not get pumped up about them. I tried Pikeman and really enjoyed it. I guess the key to my enjoyment was the ability to combine TKM with it and be recognized in a crowed.

Im a pikeman because since i became one again i havent lost one duel to a non jedi and am on 14 wins 6 losses and an infinate number of draws with full template jedi.

I litterally cannot find a better template and that includes jedi.

Because I like the hit things with a big nasty stick. One of guildies was M Pike forever and i just loved the attacks and animations, not to mention that pikes are teh sexy. I also wanted something different from the usual M Doc templates. Yes, it was harder to survive pre CU, but i enjoyed it immensely and I still do. Now..if I could only get my grubby little hands on a NSEL, my life would be complete

I really wanted a pikeman before i got the game, since I read on the forums somebody wrote: pikeman are rare, weakest of the melee classesand have to stick together. I thought it must have more potential then that and post CU its awesome. I have a TKM-MPike-MB template and Im in no rush to finish Aurillia im having such a blast. Im glad we were given so many new pikes in ROTW as well (the trandoshan pike gets noticed often), plus even when not im combat the pikes look formidable when hanging out in MO, I never have a hard time forming a solid group.

My one regret for Pikes is there is no royal guard weapons, helmet or robes. I think thats a shame since there is 3 types of ST armor, and you cant even get a deep red cloak!

Well i really like pikemen because it is very addicting and the animations are amazing. I think one of the things is how i am different in being melee rather than ranged, and/or jedi, it sort of give us a bit of pride knowing we can stand up to a riflemen and a jedi and win.

PS: I also love it in PvP,and don't those stormies fall like flys

The very first thing i did , even before swinging a saber , was level up my new alt as Master Pike/Doc.

Post CU i still love it. I miss the animations , the damage , the exceptional lances etc. etc. But there's just something about Pike i can't put my finger on. I know it's just a set of code in a stupid game , but damn i love it. Fin.

Same here. I was hologrinding and loved it...

Pikemen ROCK even though we only have one good weapon to chose from! I used pistols for about a year and a half then I switched to MBH/MRifle and loved that. I never thought about playing a melee character because I am not fond of running around chasing mobs. Well i finally got sick of paying 350-600k credits on armor every 10 days or so. I Mastered TKA for the defense and no armor. Man I tell you not having to deal with armor is freaking awesome! MTKA has awesome defense. I chose pikeman as myother mastery because out of the other melee professions Pikeman actually has style and is fun. I just couldnt bring myself to pursue a career as a swordsman and use a freaking hammer lol. Now I am MPike/MTKA/4-0-0-0 Doc and I "spin" picket lairs just as good as a jedi can but I didnt waste half my life trying to get my profession lol. I can stand toe to toe with jedi and not have to worry to much either unless its a Knight that knows what he is doing. Pikeman is just plain fun!
