I think things like area stun are for group hunting. If there are multiple targets in the same area and u all are fighting them. U use area stun and more then one mob gets a round of combat taken away and the rest of the group gets a free hit. Or if a single mob brings a friend or two u can use area stun while concentrating on one mob.
Single hit stun i dont know especially if other moves stun as well.

What is the deal with the stun? Polearm hit 2 does it anyways so why would we need it? I use it occasionally cause I thin its more accurate than a reagular hit and the ham costs are small.

Even if your weapon is slower than your opponent, you are still applying penalties you your opponent's defense and offense. Additionally it prevents your opponent from performing certain specials. The combat bonuses could be very handy if you happen to be using a heavy-hitter (Vibrolance/LVA) as they have severe accuracy penalties in return for being able to do massive damage. As for the now being able to unequip weapon, I haven't tested this. If that is the case then I'm guessing you would not be able to switch weapons at all? This would be extremely useful, especially in PvE.If you can keep your opponent's ranged weapon out while you wail on them, then you are effectively doing twice as much damage. Will have to look into that one.

Has it been figured out what stun actually does yet? AFAIK, every time I ask I get mixed answers and a lot of "who knows".
EDIT: By Stun, I mean the status effect, not the damage type.

*pretty sure* it lowers your secondaries, but with buffs/armor, that doesn't really matter.
