Sound like a lot of excitement. Question. Pike/TKA and? You still have skill points, where are they?

Yes I still have skill points, unused ones lol. I screwed up the latest bonus respec we were given and have to grind back to TKM.

Good work, but why were you using clone armor? Isn't that armor around 5500 protection or so, while TKM innate armor is equivalent to 6000?

Good point so there is a possibility that we cant tank even better than just described since he was using 5500 armor and tks have 6000 armor.

We kept NK stuck with armor break, blinded, dizzy, stunned and reckless shot (defense debuff).

Just for future reference, Reckless Shot is just a damage attack, the defence debuff applies to the person using it not the one getting hit.

congrats on ajob well done mate.

I am a TKA/Fencer/Swordsman and have no problems tanking despite what many on these boards would have you believe.

It can be done, just takes patience, and practice.

You are correct, the armor is around 5500 protection. But I had screwed up that extra respec we were given and I ended up with Master Pikeman, 0344 TK lol. I would have had something around 3300 innate protection if I didn't wear the clone armor.

I like how after I posted a thread about how to tank Necrosis with non-Jedi, someone in the Jedi forum made a thread about how to solo Necrosis as a Master Defender. Go figure.

Wow, so you weren't even a master at the time? Fix it up and try again. See if you can do better. =)

I was down there this weekend with 4 Jedi,MD, and a MR. With me being a TKM/Smuggler. After killing Necrosiss twolackys the fight whent something like this. The 4 jedi rushed him, MR rooted him and the MD went to healing, and i went for the Power Cell, ect. When he un-rooted he ran and Death-Blowed the MR,before the MR's body even hit the ground I was Death-Blowed. Some how the MD got to me and the MR to rezz us but we poped up outside the room. About 20 seconds later the MD poped up outside the room to. A few mins later all that was left was 4 Jedi and 1 dead Necrosis.

As far as I can tell I toke one hit and I was gone so just TKM skills by them self will not help you. You best have alot of synthsteak and a MD standing behind you or your a goner. But if your going to use synthsteak / MD then you may as well be any other Profession. There may be some TKMs out there that can do itbut I am going off what happen to me.

I went back down there 5 more times that day and never died but I used a Bowcaster and just put Smuggler states on him so I guess I was not a big theart and he did not fell the need to DB me.

Over all it was a blast and I had alot of fun do it.

I am a TKM/MS/Pike 0440

I was able to tank NK pretty well along with 4 Jedi friends. With COB and Sword Flurry I was cutting his damage by more than half.

The biggest annoyance was trying to HOLD THE AGGRO. Taunt SUCKS. They really need to improve our taunt to make us effective tanks.

Another issue is that healers instantly draw aggro. Very stupid.

You can drive your car backwards to work to, but that doesn't mean its a good idea.

Its nice to know if you jump through enough hoop you can tank him, but I don't think it proves tanking is working or is even a good choice. Range and Jedi make better tanks. I guess if you don't have either and the tank is set up just right with just the right support maybe they will get used then.
