Thread: Vote for Heavy Cleaver Replacement!
well dragoon gets my vote. as stated earlier there are already nightsister dragoons in game, so why not pikeman with the title too? it sounds better than the others (regardless of the final fantasy reference) and on that note what about lancer? that one is just lame (reminds me of the old robotech/macross series with that singing purple haired guy/girl), halberdier? no that just sounds lame (i would leave my sentinel tag up for sure if we get that one) and well striker all i can think of when i hear that term is soccer.

So what you're basically saying is that instead of trying to be the least bit creative about it we all have to go around picking titles used a thousand times in a thousand games in a thousand ways just because it looks "cool". Funny thing is that Hoplite didn't sound that cool back then but guess what, they tore up their enemies in seconds. Can't you at least try to use a title that's not already in game? I don't want to be assosiated with the Singing Mountain Clan Dragoons unless you make all Pikemen female, dress them up as the SMCs and give them Force powers.
Incidentaly, Lancers were you know people carrying footman's lances that marched towards the enemy and run them through. Halberdiers you know people using halberds (LVA anyone?) to crush enemy formations with heavy sweeps. But those with a polearm refference in them are just wrong aren't they? The mounted French musketeers are a much better refference for Pikemen to go for...
