Fix this class PLEASE!!!
Its not right, when knockdown was takin away, so was our value. someting needs to be done, please fix this class, took a long time to make master.

i think SOE needs to really review the role of pikemen in history and adjust the class accordingly. A skilled pikeman should:
- be awesome at its long range... a target closing in and reaching this range should suffer severe damage approaching insta-death. Bracing a polearm into the dirt and guiding it into a charging opponent, especially mounted ( if creature mounts ever come to be ) should make any class very afraid of closing distance with this class.
- be pathetic at pointblank... this is a long long weapon who's attack and defence are dependant on range. A pikeman who has allowed his opponent within 1m should be totally handcuffed until once again range is gained.
- befaster. A 2 handed sword is big and heavy and far less manueverable than a polearm. i could even see a polearm being slightly faster than a 1 handed sword... remember the Phantom Menace? Darth Maul was easily attacking and defending two opponents with "swords" by deftly spinning his "polearm"
- be awesome at knockdown, dizzy, etc. This is a primary role of the pikeman... sweeping the opponent off his feet and quickly disposing him there-after.
- be accurate. This is a big weapon BUT its also maneuverable! A long sword, even if its highly balanced, is not going to be as perfectly balanced as a pole which can be kept in motion easier by spinning. Certainly a pole needs to be more accurate than a 2H sword.
- have varied damage. Damage should range from whimpy to lethal. The strength of the pole should lie in its special attacks which should be more powerful than they are. However, a lance thrust should devastate, a pole-axe should account for the large arc of the weapon.
- have awesome defence at range. An melee opponent kept at 5m should have a miniscule chance of actually hitting as well as a very hard time closing from that distance. If its too hard to put this into the game, then the pikeman should be conpensated in other ways...
Simply put... a pikeman should be very scarey from 3m-5m, pathetic at less than 1m, and have awesome defensive specials as well as a good thrust special.
