Thread: Pikeman PVP template help!

Hey guys and gals, im looking to bring in some pike action into pvp. I'm tired of fencer and want a change. I am a wookiee, and currently am Master fencer, 4040 doctor, and 2003 pikeman. I have a pretty good NS Lance that i plan on using as my offense, or secondary offense...stats are 273 mind poison for 124 seconds, infinite uses, and 95% potency, and there is also a health disease dot on there too. I want to master pikeman, but I'd have to drop either fencer or doctor to do that, and if i drop doctor, i wont be as effective since i dont have /curepoison and /curestate. I'm planning on going 4040 doctor, master pikeman and dropping some/all of fencer.....what should i do with the points i drop from some/all of fencer? Should i even drop all of fencer or just part of it? If anyone has experience with a different PVP template which is different from what i mentionedbut involvesmaster pikeman, please post. Thanks

okay you want a pvp template that includes master pike? master pike/master rifle and 0040 pistoleer. with this template you have +180 to block I think +70 KD and dizzy defense, you can use dot pistols pikes and the rare rifle. I had this template for a long time and the only people tat killed me were CM's...they killed me so much in fact I am going doc because of it.

Nice little bit of defence stacking to fill the holes in pikeman (there are more than a few 
) and doc which i class as essential for pvp these days since ur gonna see a lot of cms around. Lots of KD defence, posture change defence, about 100 melee and ranged defence and cure all states + poison/fire/disease. Still imop pikeman wont work in pvp just now without some nice dots, so get looting!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you doctor is a good pvp profession. Doctor is a good secondary pvp profession.
If you want to spend your time healing others and yourself, stick with the doctor.
If you want to actually fight, pick something else.
The guy suggesting the pikeman/rifles is on the right track. You have to stack some professions up for melee/ranged defense and state defenses as well.
With my template, I've got 13? melee 100 ranged defense, plus (don't quote me on these numbers) something like 100 vs dizzy, 85 vs stun, and 80 vs blind. I also have some pretty good vs KD numbers too.
That's the way to make yourself viable in PvP. Mix and match professions you enjoy to find the best possible numbers of melee/ranged defense and state defenses.

Put my template in a buildier. 80 posture change defence, 70 KD defence, 40 dizzy defence. 94 melee defence, 94 ranged defence. With tapes you're looking at being 6 shy of the cap on melee and ranged, dizzy states you can remove with doc as they are applied. If you haven't fought with a bit of doc before then you've no idea how useful it is, means you dont have to run from the first noob that lobs poison your way. Stacking is great but you're **edit**ed vs a cm at range. This offers a decent combination whilst allowing more than adiquate defence.

I have to disagree with that ... Doc USED to be a support role in PvP .. now it's a priority however ... be a Doc or be a CM/Pikeman food

Guys, I used to be a master pikeman/doctor. I got sick of getting my ass kicked and dumped the doctor.
Best move I've ever made. No amount of healing could keep up with the beatings I would take. To top it off, my mind would turn to mush in no time flat. Easiest way to beat a doctor, a bunch of mind hits.
CMs are up for a nerf VERY soon. I do believe the next publish will fix the throwing through walls exploit, which was 90% of the problem in the first place.

Don't bother with doc in a pvp template.
In pvp you want:
-100+ melee and ranged defense
-100+ secondary defense (block for pikeman)
-as much def vs Dizzy as possible
-as much defense vs KD as possible
those are the basic things you want to consider when you start stacking for your template
next you want to acquire some sort of kd attack, and preferably a mind targeting attack.
With pikeman you will need to acquire a mind dot pike for the mind attacks
I suggest
master brawler
fencer 4440
tk4302
and some of swordsman if you can get it, either 0400 or 0040, i think one line gives def vs dizzy and the other is def vs kd. dizzy is a bigger problem than kd so opt for that.
those profs will give you around 120 mdef and ranged def, and however much block is included in pikeman.
Last i checked stacking defenses are capped at 125, so there is no need to have 180 block, as you will be wasting alot of points.
Rifleman would help with the ranged damage mit3 but with the block stacking capped at 120 your points are better spent elsewhere.
keep in mind that stun damage and mind attacks are the way to win in pvp (barring cm's bs dots) so anything like powerboost which can boost your mind pool is also good to have
get a suit of stun armor and a stun psg and your in business.

I'm Master Pikeman, 4/4/4/0 doc (because it's convenient to buff myself), 0/0/0/3 TK.
Running a CoB macro, I block like crazy, play smart (i.e. don't run into an open field if you have riflemen chasing you), keep opponents pinned to the ground, and slowly apply DOTs and bleeds.
A 42% stun helm, 46%-60% PSG on a hotkey (they burn out too fast to wear constantly), synthsteak, and intimidating everything in sight make up for the lack of defenses.
And I laugh at CMs.

Dude a straight pikeman/doctor has crappy defences. Look at the additions 4400 fencer makes to that at the sacrifice of master doc. I didnt say add rifles because tbh this is a pikeman pvp template, not a rifles + dots template

i have master brawler/pikeman fencer 2xxx and tka 4xx4 then i poison them and stay up long enough for my poison to do its job consider taking up some + def to dizzy and KD thats the thing that ebats me
