Thread: pikeman is least popular adv. profession
quoth Holo:
"Least popular in terms of novices is polearms. Then image designer, chef, fencer, and squad leader.
Least commonly mastered is bounty hunter. Then fencer, polearms, squad leader, and chef."

we've fallen behind image designer and chef! good lord!
As a novice pikeman and master chef, that makes me fell all warm inside for some reason ![]()
Interesting that we have less overall people than fencers, but more masters..
No surprises that CH's are No 1 in both though..
Actually, what taht shows to me is the dedication of those of us left. We're not the #1 least mastered profession, but we're the #1 least novice. That means our masters are hanging in, even though we're going through bad times at the moment.
That, is something to be proud of, imho.
What you guys are missing is the difference between 11 master pikeman across all galaxies and 10 master fencers across all galaxies isn't really that much lol.
I would seriously like to see numbers associated with that list because the difference between master pikeman and master CH has got to be a couple orders of magnitude.
Granted I like being a rare class, but let's face it, we're rare because we suck.
Oh, I can't wait to make novice Pikeman!
With nothing but Polearms III and an unsliced, unpower-upped (how's that for a made up word?) LVA when beserk I can easily hit for over 500 points of damage. The highest I've seen yet is 841. I haven't decided where my other skill points are going to go...but I'm *definately* going after master pikeman, regardless of what other professions will have to suffer for it. It's just too dang much fun to go tusken hunting and watch everyone blast away for a full minute, then run in and finish one off (still with a good chunk of his ham) in one hit.
Yeah that is where the power comes right now, In groups. It is satifactory to see a big chunko health get cut off but seriously man, compare you to a level 3 rifleman. They can kite, they usually have Suppresion fire so they can do ranged paosture changes. When it comes down to it. If you faced a Tusken cheif your dead in a few seconds, when a rifle man faces a tusken cheif he can kite and shoot and there is a possibility of winning. We on the otherhand dont even stand a chance. Wait till you see rifleman with T-21s Shoot for 5000+ damage at a distance to mind and destroy the target before you get there. Happened to me many times ![]()
I play a Fencer on the Bria server and a Pikeman on the Tempest server (yes, I'm a glutton for punishment) and I find them to be about comparable in PvE. I'm a bit higher in Fencer 1-2-1-1 than in Pikeman 0-2-0-0, and thus my Fencer is able to take on a bit more challenging targets, but when fighting with either one it's a lot of praying. With my fencer I can only hope I can kill my target with my low, but very accurate damage before it kills me, and with my Pikeman I pray that I can hit enough times with my very good damage before it kills me. My pikeman uses a LVA so it really is a matter of getting **edit** lucky to score a few hits in a fight.
I have never won a PvP fight with my Fencer but I did win my one PvP fighting with my Pikeman. A Novice Pistoleer challenged me to a duel, in a very rude maner, while waiting for the shuttle and I walked up to her without saying as word, accepted the duel standing right next to her, and proceeded to beat her up bad. She would run, but I was always right on her tail and manage to hit her a few good ones, while she hit me alot more, but with much less damage. I know this was luck and probably her lack of experience, but it still felt good, especially with an audience. She was incapped and I didn't even lose half my health, which is relatively high since I am a wookiee.
I do think our time with come (both Fencers and Pikemen), it's just a matter of when. They will eventually throw us a bone to make our professions at least somewhat more capable in the PvP arena and have already talked about looking into the horrid negative accuracy modifiers on our 2 best (or supposed to be best) weapons.
Getting the LVA at Lv3 is nice....and does seem to be better than the others erly on.....but check this out
i started working on One-Handed....
they get the Vibro Blade at Lv2....
I have done over 900 damage with that thing....it's speed is 3.0 and it has +7/+7/+7 to hit accuracy....
so now what do you think?
but i do admit the HAM costs are a bit much....every time i swing for 900 i do -33 damage to my action and a little mind....-33!!!!!
lol
we are all doomed...
