Thread: You guys will love this
The GCW bases that Holocron listed, most of the fighting is close range against multiple targets with 6000 hps. Most fighting occures atless than 20m, in small hallways.
I love reading BH posts. **edit** in virtually every book in SW regarding BH's, BH's went after bounties of people in RL like you and me. They went after accountants who tried to cheat someone in power, normal people running from their past, etc. THEY DID NOT go after master combatants virtually at all! In the Bounty Hunter trilogy, Bobba Fett has to team up with Bossk to take in a high ranking storm trooper on the run. Both of them almost get killed in the process. Hmm, 2 Master Bounty Hunters almost dying to a high ranking storm trooper. Sounds like it's just the opposite in-game.

Yeah, it really gets on my nerves that the majority of Bounty Hunters think they are as uber as Jango/Boba Fett just because they share the same profession. That's as lame as saying that as Smugglers are as good as Han Solo or all Zabraks are as powerful as Darth Maul.
The only thing Bounty Hunters do different than the rest of the SWG professions is to chose to become a Bounty Hunter. In my book, that is not grounds to be god-like; we have just as difficult a time spending our 250 skills points as Bounty Hunters do.
For those who care, here is my take on it:
Cuke, drop this lame, tiredtopic already. You don't need to make hundreds of posts all saying the same thing. Your logic is flawed. No one profession was meant to be a PvP god who wins 100% of the time.
PvP combat is a competitive game in which the playing field is meant to be as fair and as level as possible or there is no point or fun playing the game. Guaranteed winners and losers in PvPmakes about as much sense as playing agame of chessin whichoneplayer onlyhas pawns and a king and the other player has all the chess pieces, or playing a game of Poker with a marked deck of cards. Not many people enjoy fixed games in which there are little or no odds of winning.
Using your logic, if I spend all my 250 points on pistol training (master pistoleer/master smuggler, etc), I should beat a bounty hunter because I have spent more skills points on pistol training than it takes to become a bounty hunter. Well, this isn't the case.
Your master bounty hunter who only trained in four pistol skill boxes (Pistol Specialization) is going to beat my master pistoleer/master smuggler who has 20 pistol skill boxes of training (Pistol Grips, Marksmanship, Techniques, & Stances/Feign Death,Panic Shot, Low Blow, Last Ditch) hands-down.
Lastly, making Master Scout and Master Marksman is easy. Anyone who is honest will tell you it can be easily done in one to two weeks of casual gaming. There are far harder elite profession prequisites like becoming a master brawler.
Many bounty hunters complain about all the skill points it takes to become one, but they have better firearmskills and access to better weapons than a player who is a Master Pistoleer, Master Carbineer, and Master Rifleman all at the same time (if that was possible).
But I guess it'sall thosescout and investigation skills that make bounty hunters so combat uber 1337. Some of you bounty hunters will defend your so-calledright to be god-like in PvP just because you enjoy having an unfair advantage over everyone else.
Bounty Hunters don't do anything special to earn their god-like abilities expect choosing to be a bounty hunter. All other non-bounty hunter players have an equally difficult time spending all of their 250 skill points.
Having said that, I do not want to see Bounty Hunters (or any other professions)nerfed, but just as Commandos were brought up to par, some other combat professions are going to need to be empowered so that they can enjoy PvP too instead of always losing. I am just tired of lame arguments for one or two professions ruling PvP combat.
Pay special attention to the "defense second only to a TK master" part of the post.

"Although the Bounty Hunter sacrifices much of their defensive capabilities in order to gain in offensive firepower delivered, they are not defenseless.
The Bounty Hunter is a specialist in dodging an enemy's attacks, and using the target's attacks to their advantage. Therefore, it is required that Investigations tree reflects dodge and counterattack as their primary defensive abilities. These abilities should be surpassed only by the Teras Kasi master."
in one bit he says they've sacrificed much of their defense for offense, yet the next statement requests the second best defense of any profession. i just don't see the sacrifice!
"Rumor has it that the infamous pirate Nym has begun rewarding adventurers with weapons from his private stockpile. A special 'slug-thrower' carbine is available to those who succeed in Nym's new quest series!"
from patch notes on tc
LOL why dont they just take the scyth out of our tree! Or better yet make nyms quest give weapons for other classes and let swordsman just go into nyms and wonder about that sword on the wall no no wait thats what they did.
hey maybe someone will loot an exceptional sythe one day hahaha like that will ever happen.
We all know it's in game we all know the it's description is in game but there is no quest for this holy grail for the swordman.
It'slike the t21's on tarqanise it just isn't there. well actually there is ONE but it was one of thoughs exceptional t21's.
Dictionary definition of the word Scythe - An implement consisting of a long, curved single-edged blade with a long bent handle, used for mowing or reaping.
Sounds like it could be a sword to me
Gamesanator wrote:The problem is that about two months ago the dev's said nym's quest was supposed to be for the scythe but they were working on swordsman balance sothe quest woulndt be rdyfor a month or two thats why theres scythe's on the walls in nym's palace its supposed to be the scythe quest now the quest is for a carbine???
For crying out loud carbineers have good weapons allready we are the ones in need of better weapons and now we get shafted on the scythe quest arggg
The Devs actually said the reward for Nyms Quest was the scythe?
I thought that was just a conclusion we came to here on the boards (because Nym has scythes in his Palace) ?
Can you show me where the devs said that Nym's missions were going to be the Scythe quest?
