With a small handful of DOT weapons, speed tapes, buffs, and 4/0/4/0 doc you're nigh unbeatable one on one?

You answered your own question.
Nobody should be unbeatable because of how much they're able to buy and/or loot. Arguably, nobody should be unbeatable at all, but if someone is it should at least be due to their own skill and not the size of their bank account.

That said, don't forget that there are other classes with DoT weapons. I have a Janta Knife sitting in my house with a 200 point mind poison...

hehehe, unbeatable, right.......
The biggest problem we have with this is that we rely on rare loot drops to be effective in PvP. A fencer can go and buy a stun baton, hit his COB macro and dodge everything. A TK will keep you on your ass and not your feet, so you cant fight there... a Rifleman goes and gets a T-21 and spams head shot while kiting. Need I keep going.
Pikeman, no any other profession for that matter, should have to "temploit" or rely on loot to be effective in PvP. Many people say "ohh well, your just not good, not every class should be." Weather you believe in this or not, everyone should have the same oppertunity to be effective in PvP/

He was...... I thought he hit the answer right on the head that pikemen are supposed to be good without depending on looted weapons I was agreeing with him.

No, really, what's wrong with being loot dependant? Pikeman have the best and most easily obtained loot weapons in the game, with some speed tapes it doesn't matter how much you miss, because every hit counts. I like Pikeman because of how unorthodox the fighting style is. Just about every class in this game simply requires running in and mashing a mind attack. With Pike you can't rely on direct damage, and have to focus more on keeping yourself alive while letting your DoTs do the work. Pikeman's actually pretty uber if you have the right stuff.
Most other classes are actually the same way.
Pistoleer - geo blaster = loot
Fencer - acklay baton = loot
Swordsman - acklay hammer/Gammorean axe + speed tapes= loot
Ranged classes - Krayt enhanced guns = loot
Truly, TK is the only non-loot dependant class. Pikeman is just the extreme, but with the right stuff it's the most deadly.
I dunno. I don't really see much of a problem with it. It's like the CM of melee, and it's damn fun.

I wish I wasn't.
I had written a long response to the nonsense up there, but why bother? The loot-centric pikemen will never understand why being utterly dependent on loot (unlike all other classes, which are merely enhanced by loot) is a bad thing.
So, condensed into two sentences:
I'm a pikeman, not a **edit**ing CM. I should be able to fight as a pikeman, not forced to emulate a CM.

Doesn't matter how your good, there are a bunch of other **edit** professions who can get just as many skill tapes as you because they prolly make alot more money than you perminute because your a **edit**ty pikeman just like me.
I have a 300-1k dmg LVA and I only have 1 skill tape, +1 polearm Damage CA , and I kick every ones ass in naked fighting no buffs.
