Thread: Because of the FOTM and fear of what it will do to pikeman...

I have dropped it completely after what seemed to be forever as a pikeman. Goodluck to you guys and to all the FOTM - if your here for the DOTs, you'll all be gone soon 
I used dot's in pvp btw (very high ones i might add(, maybe someday if its fixed and you dont have to rely on dots I'll come back to it.
Just wasnt fun anymore.

It means the profession that everyone is doing becase it seems to have a slight advantage. Now its Pikeman because they nerfed CM DOT's.

I've noticed that since I wear my Master Pikeman tag up now I get less people calling me a FOTM pikeman than when I wore the sentinel title. Sorry to see you go but I hope you have fun in whatever profession you go to.

I hope i never have to drop it, and i was under the impression it was feature of the month.......... but that doesnt matter, hopefully we will still be weak in PvP after hte Combat Re-vamp, cause the last thing i want is to be good, and have all the kiddies coming here.......bleh

If it's done right we won't be weak in PvP, but neither will we be overpowered. There should be balance so that the people who enjoy pikeman can play as pikemen without feeling weak, but those who don't enjoy it won't pick it up to be powerful.

I had high damage LVAs and stuff, all the toys but theyre all gone now. Fencer is more appealing since everyone and their brother arent fencer any more. No uber dots and they whine about armor -- Im so used to having something to complain about I think im attracted to working with little, rather than be given a win button.

Fencer you say? Easy to counter a fencer..get decent stun layered armor + PSG. That pretty much makes a fencer the equivalent of a TKA in PvP, with a few more defensive bonuses. And from what I've seen, Fencer is still pretty strong as a FOTM type profession, mainly because of these defenses.

A guildie of mine has a 739 strength mind fire gaffie stick....fencer -land also has its share of dots.

I think every profession has got its share of DoT weapons, pikeman has just got a bit more than any other class out there.
I think it's a shame though that you basically need DoT weapons to compete in PvP if you aren't either Swordsgimp or Riflegirl - Pikemen are even in a tighter spot than other melee classessince we don't haveanything similar to scatter hitor a mindhit like the one in TKA.
