If Jedi uses his force powers, then he incurs a TEF. The devs have said a jedi can handle 7-8 players no problem. So will he be the only player who have true PvP, just whip out the lightsaber and run through town killing people?

Yes 7-8 players, but they didnt say how skilled. Id say a Jedi vs a good Bounty hunter would be a good fight(Well a non-master Jedi at least)

having a TEF doesnt mean you can attack everyone it means you can be attacked by anyone.

you're right, just because you have a TEF doesn't mean u can kill everyone.....but anyone that attacks you, you can take 'em on

Ever think that once you reach a certain level of the Jedi skill tree, the only way to progress is by killing other Jedis?

Ever watch that TV series or the movie "Highlander"?

There can be only one!

Oops I forgot to mention that this is how I believe many Jedis will suffer their permadeath.

"Bwahahhahaha, I hit you first with force knockdown!"

I disagree.. bah... come on, there are so many other ways to die first I highly doubt that jedi will die mainly from PvP.. prehaps a year or so down the road when there are many more we may begin to see PvP jedi battles.. Prehaps you are talking about FS people getting PvPed, which will probably happen to many padawans who can't keep a secret. However, if someone is clever enough to be a Jedi I doubt they will expose themselves to that possibility, unless it is a prearranged meeting, or by completechance.. I know if I was able to train and become a Jedi Knight/Master,I would save my life for something far worthwhile and worth the screens.. ala assulting Darth himself on Naboo, but hey who knows.

This is false, and absolutely absurd to think something so gimped up.

The requirements would not require that you kill another jedi; its a game with consensual PvP, first off, and finding another one would be quite difficult, and then finding one with a TEF no less... and then at risk to you?

Also, what if you're one dedicated to following the Jedi order? Theres no intentions of murder and hatred, so that is just some off-the-wall logic.

Secondly, the devs said you'd advance up the ranks like any other, i.e. only apprenticeship and "Jedi Discipline" experience.

Hope this didnt seem like a flaming post, and instead was constructive criticism.

Thanks,

Actually, at one point, I suggested that it may be possible that they put one of the prerequisites for becomming a Jedi Master to have killed another Jedi of opposite standing. Light vs. Dark. Good vs. Evil....you know the drill. That would be one of the ultimate ways to limit Jedi Masters.

However, since even the highest skilled guys still block only 1 in 100 attacks, Jedi vs Jedi combat will probably end up as first hit kills, because of lightsabers. Yay...lots of fun I'm sure. Thanks SOE for making Jedi vs. Jedi combat S-U-C-K.

I'm curious about something. I havent read the forums in a few weeks and Ive heard that Jedi will have to PvP in order to advance after the revamp. Is this true or is it rumor.

I ask because Im not big into PvP and it seems to me that what the community does NOT want is everyone ruinning around flashing a saber and fighting like its KOTOR multiplayer or something. But if Jedi have to PvP in order to advance, isnt that what we are gonna have???? Well that and guildies fighting each other and taking turns losing so that they can level faster.

Am I wrong here or is my information Ive been given wrong?

Thanx in advance.

in my opijnion people are jumping to conclusions. the actual quote says, "...where forced jedi PvP will gain you force RANKING and possibly a seat on the underground Light/Dark Jedi Council"

As I have said on another post

Leveling and Ranking are two different words, and it seems to me it's all speculation.. I will continue to believe it is until a developer dispells this somehow.

Clarification is needed.

Well, it's becoming increasingly clear what skills a Jedi must take, unequivocally, in order to pvp.

Master enhance for forcerun 3, at least healing 4204 if not master healer and saber. Anything else is fodder.

The first thing everyone does is apply dizzy and attempt to pin you so they can begin to spam (light and dark). This is lame. It's lame when tka/fencers do it and it worse when Jedi are force to do it. This kd+dizzy bs is forcing us to take 0004 healing, if not your just screwed.

What does this mean? Dark Jedi are screwed because they are forced to take a light Jedi template. It's becoming increasingly lame the way things are going on TC2. You run in, take damage and run out with forcerun3. No fun at all being kited into oblivion. Any Jedi on live that does NOT take this skill will be at a severe disadvantage, as when they are fighting someone who does have this skill, when they start to win, the loser will just run away. Even if you have it yourself and try to chase them, they will just run into the water or server lag will save them.

In the end the FRS will turn into battle of the forcerun3/kd+dizzy. As of this moment nothing else matters except these skills.
