Thread: Were bleeds nerfed?

I haven't had a chance to test this very extensively, but it seems like my bleeds are doing less damage. I was fighting Huurton Huntresses today, and was landing ActionHit2's that were only doing about 250-300 bleed damage. And this is with a sliced LVA with a max damage of 483. Is anyone else having this experience? If so, was there some mention of it in the patch notes that I missed?

Okay, duh. I guess it was pretty apprent from the patch notes that bleeds were going to be nerfed. Don't know how I missed that one...

Yeah, they did a good job of it, too. Where once I could get bleeds of 1500 for actionhit2, I'm getting 300 now. Things with medium armor get colossal bleeds of around 50 at times. Yay.

Yes, I think bleeds were nerfed--rather hard, too. I tried an action hit 1 with a lva (400ish max damage) and hit for... a 31 point bleed.

This affects many professions, but I think swordsmen get hit pretty hard by this because their mind bleeds were extremely valuable and were one of their defining attacks. Swordsmen need some help, I say.

On a positive note, it looks like the bleed changes work on our side and the NPC/creature side. No more 1600 bleeds from tusken raiders.

Yeah my 900+ bleeds were dropped to about 90+. But, the tuskens bleed me for only about 20-80. Much nicer for fighting enemies, but makes bleed pretty worthless now though (both for me and the enemy). Why even keep it in the game?

I also appreciate the smaller stat wounds from bleeds. Tuskens used to drop my strength and constitution to nothing in two bleeds

I might be alone in this opinion, but I think bleeds were as important a piece of our arsenal as they were for Swordsman, if not more so. The ActionHits werewhat kept me from dropping Pikeman after the knockdown nerf hit. Personally, I 'd like to see some of the DoT attacksrestored to their former glory, even if it means having to suffer through those nasty Tusken bleeds.

Oh well. At least our accuracy was fixed. The Devs give and the Devs taketh away...

I was shocked to see that my once powerful actionhit2 (1000-1500 damage) hit for 81 points per tick.

81!!!!! **edit**!!!!!

I knew there were nerfing bleeds but come on! also I thought that being able to stack bleeds was being nerfed....guess I was wrong.

81!!!!!!

No doubt our bleeds were integral in taking down the larger targets with ease. I was just saying that action bleed vs mind bleed, the mind bleed is more valuable, and so in losing the effectiveness of their mind bleeds, they lost more value from their class than we did.

As someone that has dabbled in both....it is a much bigger hit to Swordsmen.....Pike has stun, knockdown, bleeds, etc....all Sword has is a bleed, that's IT.....the posture changes rarely work too.....what even worse, is the fact that the bleed doesn't necessarily hit the mind pool now.....it just ticks away at it. So you can use the 2Hand Mind hit, it'll cause 100 Health or Action or Mind Damage, then start ticking at the mind pool.....

I thought a bleed "nerf" would be like a 30% reduction, but a 90% reduction!?!?!?!? Then saying the bleeds don't stack, but allowingsome professions to stack!?!?!?!? From what I have heard, Fencers can still stack....

Well, I've experimented a bit, and I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that bleeds are now largely useless. I'm having a very hard time imagining a situation where doing 200 damage every 20 seconds would acutally be useful. I suppose if one wanted to inflict a slow, painful, death on every gnort, chuba, and kreetle one came across, bleeds as they currently stand could come in handy...

Hurts to have them made near useless, but Im also happy that Im not bleeding out so much while fighting Tuskens or some of the more angry Nightsisters....

I guess at least theres a silver lining to this dark cloud
