Any word on the space loot issue? Do the devs consider things to be working as intended, or are you going to address the fact that new pilot characters loot less off a destroyed tier 1 ship than a new marksman does off of a meatlump? A new ship costs a heck of a lot more than a new pistol, mind you!

Are you going to force new character pilots to the ground game in order to earn money at some rate tobe able to buy a ship in a reasonable amount of time?

Also, any progress on the Travel bug, being restricted to Tatooine-like destinations?

Sorry bud, my loot drops are just fine. Dont touch it Devs.

Forgive me for not being clear enough. I don't mean loot as in component drops. I mean CASH. CREDITS. I am not making enough CREDITS in space to be able to afford a new shipby the time I amdone with tier 1.

My kills are only dropping 4 to 14 credits a piece out there. The only missions I can get are theones the trainer give me. The escort missions take about 40-45 minutes to run. I will need to run 14 of them just to pay the chassis builders fee of 50k. I will probably need double that to pay what the Shipwright will want.

In essence, I'm not makingenough out there to buy a new tier 2 chassis at what they are going for, plus outfitting it. I've survived all the way through tier 1 on the free ship, but there's no way I can affort a tier 2 ship. Not in what I consider a reasonable amount of time. My trainer wants me to go to the tier 2 trainer, but I cannot, I must grind now for9.75 HOURS of escort missions to make enough money to pay to have a tier 2 ship constructed, and possible up to ANOTHER 9.75 hours to have blueprints made and the ship outfitted. Maybe even longer! This is after being frugal and skipping the purchase of a player built tier 1 ship.

Maybe you think that is reasonable, but I don't think so. I think that 10 hours of grinding is going to mean the only people who play JTL and buy ships are people who already have existing rich characters. JTL is not going to attract new players or bring players back to the game, because they are going to find the SAME OLD GRIND but in space.

I only hope the cash flow situation improves once you get over this initial hurdle.

If I'm wrong, please, by all means, I've started another thread, share your tips for earning money in space.

i dont mean to sound like a jerk but... couldnt you try some ground missions for money? you need to take full advantage of the game and all it has to offer, no one said it would be easy, and things dont necessarily have to flow 100%

Yes, every time I log in, I am being forced to undergo a full scan.

Started on Sunday morning. Anything we can do about this?

Since I can't find your other thread, I will post my answer here.

You are right. There isn't a lot of cash being dropped in space. I'm not sure there should be though. There are other ways of working around your problems. You just have to start thinking outside the box a bit.

First, you are operating under a couple false assumptions:

Assumption 1 is that the Chassis builder will charge you. Although that was the case in the Beta - it is not in the live game. Chassis builders charge you nothing.

Assumption 2 is that you need a tier 2 ship to get to the tier 2 missions. Not so. A player-built Z-95 will get you there.

Assumption 3 is that a chassis will cost you 50k. Chassis cost of a Z-95 is currently 6k in the bazzar. You have to check often because they sell fast - but they are there.

Assumption4 is that you need cash. Once again - not so. I was in the same position as you appear to be right now. I was pilot 1111 and still flying the trainer ship. I needed a hyper capable ship in order to continue my training and missions. I hopped in my trainer and flew around killing anything yellow I could find and after a couple hours I had a whopping 1k of credits and 10 looted items. I got an idea. I was a shipwright in Beta. I was always needing loot for Reverse Engineering. So, I flew around for another hour, killing stuff. Then went to Theed and stood outside the spaceport looking for Shipwrights. I walked up to one and said, "Hey - I'll trade you these 20 peices of level 1 loot for a z-95 chassis." I had to ask three different shipwrights - but I found one who wanted the loot. Viola. One chassis. The Chassis guy turned it into a deed (no charge).

I went back into space for a couple more hours and came back with enough loot to build the chassis up except for a reactor. As luck would have it, none of the loot I had aquired was a reactor. I took the loot I didn't use and threw it on in the bazzar. Level 1 stuff for 2k each piece. Within 1 hour it was all sold and I had enough to buy a reactor from - you guessed it - the bazzar.

So, off I go to Dantooine. See you there.

Have you run trefix.exe in the starwarsgalaxies directory yet? This usually fixes the problem for me. It takes awhile but usually solves the problem.
