Thread: What Songs Would You Like To See Added?

Focus thread

These ideas are kind of spread all over the place so I thought I'd beat NewJedi to the punch and make it myself.

A Requiem

A sad, mournful song but can still be beautiful and touching in a way. There are several situations in the game where I've tried to fit the mood with music, but found the songs to be too happy for the occasion. A deep and slow requiem could do wonders.

A Minuet or Serenade

Something like Waltz but with a more uplifting tune. A higher pitch, faster tempo, and more crescending flourishes to really give an emotional song at our disposal.

A Classical Song

Some might say this is what Waltz is, but there's a difference between the Waltz song and classical music. Classical has a wider variety of tempos and pitches. This could be the "better Waltz."

A Mariachi or Bolero

Ok, I said I want serious, but this just popped into mind as I was writing this. A very fast, very upbeat song would be great for public performances with dancers. Besides, who doesn't want to be in a mariachi band?

And last but not least...

A Factional Song!

I've been wanting to bring this up for a while now and should probably put this in the Cool Ideas thread, but oh well. I think faction recruiters should "sell" their faction's song to musicians (or maybe Entertainers to be fair to the dancers). It's not like a normal song: it can only be played with one "instrument" that's crafted by Master Musicians...a Holorecorder or something. It can only be played viaa droid's playback module (maybe...) and is an extra track on the module, even if you only have one installed. I don't know...something along these lines. I just want to play the Imperial March (and you Rebels can have that Redemption at Abridon music).

Now add your ideas

Hmm...

Funk - I'd love to see some funk, like James Brown. But that's just me. >_>

Bluegrass - Pluck that Mandoviol! Hoedown!

A "solo" song - 4 different "solo" songs such as "Horn Solo" "Winds Solo" "Drum n Bass Solo" "Mandoviol Solo". The main instrument of the corresponding instrument does very elaborate riffs and licks, while the other instruments, if played, provide a very soft background sound. This would be perfect for shows and such, where I would love to have drum solos in a solo spot. Would be kinda cool.

Jazz - I'd love to see a real jazz song, with a strong bass pulse, and very neat instrumentation. Virtuoso is very close to this, so it would not be a high pirority song.

I personally would love to see (hear) something modeled after the "Duel of the Fates" music from Ep1.

The sort of 'virtuostic violin solo' in ceremonial is interesting. Shame it doesn't fit any other instrument in it at all.

I'd be for more formal pieces, of course with the flourish system, you're sort of limited to what you can play. In a 5 second span they have to start and end on the same note and it can get a bit annoying - prevented from alot of really interesting things.

I much ratherhave instruments to be able to play notes instead of ready set songs and flourishes.

I know, that's what we'd all really want, I'd imagine.

Unfortunately due to possible copyright violations, it will never come to pass.

*shakes fist*

I'd like some funk, and the mariachi and that type stuff. Stuff that would sound good on the mandovial, like starwars1 is.

Anything sad, mournful, atmospheric... all the songs at the moment are just so damn... chirpy and pleasent.

Any chance we could sticky this NJ? This is a great idea and is needed to be seen by the devs.

Jig

A happy, upbeat tune that you can really dance to. Think of an Irish Jig if you've ever heard one. A very fast tempo, even faster flourishes, and a high pitch could make Jig a fan favorite The game also need songs like this for Musicians to better interract with Dancers. When a musician's song actually inspires a dancer to dance, that's something great.
