Thread: What Songs Would You Like To See Added?

Ska - Something nice and upbeat which made good use of the horns. Let the mando handle the rhythm guitar as default, and add riffs for the flourishes. The Nala can mimic this with different riffs.

Funk - A must. Heavy on the drums, and split the drums and bass, letting the mando handle the latter. As in ska, heavy on the horns.

Bluegrass - Let the mando take a banjo sound in a nice pacey track.

Techno - Have the Ommni Box act as a turntable with scrathes. A wikka-wikka-wee-wikka-wikka-wee-wee-wikka!

Bim Azul aka "Blue Mayonnaise" - unretired

Devs already said that could never happen

It would cause copywrite problems. Since the songs have to go through the game, the game is actually using these songs. Since they're copywrited, SOE is now using these songs without permission....which is illegal. So unless SOE makes a contract for every single song...ever...this can never happen.

See, I don't get that. We can create a brand name called Wal-Mart in the game and sell items under that 'brand.'

We can create loads of other stuff that is copyrighted and trademarked, and that's ok. Why can't we play a damn song from 12 notes?

It's because Wal-Mart isn't out there suing hundreds of its customers these days for copyright violation.
It's because Wal-Mart doesn't use copyright as a tool to sell songs at unreasonable mark-ups and instead relies on good service and products to attract more customers.
It's because Wal-Mart would be more likely to like free advertising, since its name is generally regarded well, whereas the RIAA can't really use its name as a selling tool.
Just maybe.

If you play music through a medium, that medium is playing it, not you, in terms of copywrite laws.

And since you pay for the game, the game is technically selling this music.

And since they don't have authorization, they're selling this music without permission. Which is illegal.

Now please limit posts on this thread to song ideas. Creat another thread if you wish to debate this.

Have each instrument have its own "solo" song where only that certain instrument can play it but it sounds awesome. Like a drum cadence

i'd really like to see a new instrument like turntables and a hip hop-ish sounding song... something that sounds more master p than shady-aftermath, ya know? but the turntables should lay down the beat (base song of what the rest of the band is playing) and the flo's should be mad cuts and scratches. and maybe a fast fight music techno song, like the one from the beginning of blade.

it's late and my mind doesn't work very well at this time of day.

I'd like more songs that sound like they belong in the Star Wars universe.

Cool thread. I hope it gets viewed by the devs. Anyway i was just talking with my buddies about this and personally,

I think a nice addition to the songs list is the song being played in the public guild halls in the room the Merchant

Trainer(s) are located. It has plenty of phrases that could easily be carried over to flourishes. Hope we get it!

Actually if you perform a copyrighted song at a public venue you are responsible for paying a license fee for that use. In reality few do when the venue is small or not very visible but you are libel for that fee if caught and may face even larger costs if sued for unlicensed use. I've performed in venues where I would provide mixes of my own dance music from commercial CDs, technically that makes me responsible for the license fee for that public use and if I didn't take care of it the venue could be held libel for it. A band even if they themselfs perform the copyrighted material have a responsiblity to pay the license fee. If some one such as Sony broadcast that copyrighted material they now take on a responsiblity for it and since they are larger, more visible and have deeper pockets they have greater exposure.
