Thread: Why is that Entertaining is not a Force Sensitive Quest?

I was looking through all the different quest items in the new Jedi village. So why is exactly that there is nothing that would benefit us in this new update as in Musicians. We will have to do other quests just so that we can even be considered force senstive. There are no entertain the troops to help them get over their fatigue.

There is GO kill things. (Combat)

There is GO Build something. (Artisan)

There is GO Find something (Medic/Artisan-Survey)

There is GO test your Reflexes. (Have no idea what this entails.)

So where is the entertainers place in these quests?

I am not really sure why I am complaining. I will be doing the Survey missions because that is what I really am to support my music.

I guess I am just little put out that did not add a Entertainer Quest. So when is that going to happen? Is that even in the plans? I mean I know a lot of dedicated Entertainers. So I think a bone should be thrown our way. Or if some one knows of one let me know.

Thanks,

I've been asking this same question again and again in the testing forum for Publish 10, but no one seems to care. I think it's a shame that we have Devs who could care less about including some of their customers in a major publish like the new Jedi system.

I will never, ever, believe another word those "Devs" say, nor will I ever expect them to do anything to improve the Entertainers' game, they're useless as far as I'm concerned.

Pity I'm helping to pay their salary. But every employer has it's share of leeches.

Yes, I'm bitter about being completely excluded from the new Jedi system, haha.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. If it's not one thing it's another. But, they're right. They forgot us again. This new wave of bitterness could have easily been avoided. You would have thought that we had put up enough stink about getting no force sensitive abilities, and them changing that, that the *obvious* thought that there were no entertainer quests would have at least *crossed* their minds.

Apparently not.

So, now, basically, if I want to get the force sensitive entertainer skills, I have to drop some of my entertainer skills and pick up medic to unlock this? That's BS.

Looks like I have another thing I need to complain about.

I know that this probably has been said before. But it feels like they are not considering entertainers a viable proffession... I am not sure. Kind of hard to swallow. I would figure that there would be a base quest for ever starting proffesion at least. I would hope that entertianing would be included.

I wouldn't mind seeing something added in the future that could actually be done by a dedicated entertainer. There are a few out there. *Shrugs* We shall see.

Other than that keep enjoying the game.

Yeah, probably because we get the shaft in this game like no other profession, save Smugglers possibly.

Oh yeah, I enjoy the game, otherwise I wouldn't keep playing. It goes without saying that the game itself is fun.

But, I must admit, the Entertainer professions' play value has remained VERY stagnant for quite sometime, and threatened by AFK players.

As you said, the Devs have done nothing lately but make us feel like we aren't a viable profession in this game.

Personally, I find it incredibly sad that we even HAVE to whine as much as we do, when we should just be GIVEN stuff like other professions. It's ridiculous, really. Combat professions may whine for new content because the Dev team can't push out new content fast enough for them to devour. We, however, whine for new content because we've needed some for over a year.

Just as an FYI, I posted a thread on this in the entertainer forum.

Short answer is... there is no place for entertainers.

We do get more (worthless) wound healing mods in the Healing tier, if that's worth anything.

Also, we can convert musician/ent healing XP at a good ratio for the Senses boxes. So we can't do the quests as a pure entertainer, but wecan grind 2/3 of the boxes needed for Jedi unlocking.

And Reflexes is Combat also.

But what's the point in getting more (worthless) healing mods if we can't actually get them at all by being entertainers?

Yay, a new troll who thinks that because they have an alt played on alternating blue moons who has some Entertainer skills, that they can belittle those who are dedicated, pure Entertainers who would like to participate in the gamut of experiences this game is supposed to offer, without having to create an alt. (I did it for all of about two or three weeks before I was bored out of my mind. But I did it, and I am amazed that there are people out there with the singlemindedness of purpose to pursue it.)

And this isn't new bitterness for me, so that line won't work on my part. I've been bitter for longer than your account has been registered. When you've played a performer for over a year and are still perky...well, I'll think you're crazy, but I'll at least be able to admire your dedication.

Until you've been dancing in our shoes for a while longer...pipe down, sonny. As was said, the other first-rank Novice professions are given things to do. Again, it's Politicians and Entertainers who're left standing around wondering what hole their "unique new playstyle" fell into.

You can master all there is to do in Politician and still be an Elite Master of something else. Whereas with the Entertainer professions...you can't even master the base and all of the Elite professions that come off it. There are people out there who are completely dedicated to Entertaining.

By now I am almost cynical enough to imagine the dev conversing a bit like this.

Dev1: So what kind of FS quests do we wand to make for entertains.
Dev2: Do we even wand to make them anything, I mean would to be wise.
Dev1: What do you mean?
Dev2: Well the combaters are already complaining of a lack of entertainers, if they could become Jedi's we would start loosing entertainers. And that would lead to more combatants complaining.
Dev1: Hmmm, that is a concern. We better skip entertainer quests.
Dev1 turns to dev3.
Dev1: hay you better remove that cantina from the village, we are dropping entertainer quest so the wound become Jedi's.
Dev3: Ok, I had not made it yet anyway. And it makes sense to not have a cantina if there are not going to be entertainers in the village.

I would at the lest have assumed that they could make some missions the ones from our terminals if they had wanted us to be part of the FS quests.

Ummmm....Echinacea.......

I've know SinnAsyr as long as I've known you....if not longer, and he's been Master Musician the entire time. I really hope that your reply to him was either misunderstood by me or that your frustration with trolls blinded you as to who was posting. As to if he CURRENTLY only plays it a few hours a week, well that is a different question, but I could understand if he wanted to try something different from entertaining. Its not like the devs have given us many new things to be happy about.
