Dear fellow Musicians,

Normally I'd be posting my latest Report today, but the devs have indicated that they'd like me to hold off until they've had a chance to provide some feedback on our initial top-five list. I'm hoping we'll get some of that feedback soon. As soon as I hear anything, I of course will pass it on to you here.

As a reminder, our top-five list is based primarily on your posts in this forum, and secondarily on what I hear in-game from fellow musicians. It includes (1) eliminating duplicate sounds for instruments, (2) more songs and flourishes, (3) some way to /tip a group, (4) better gigs and high-level content more generally, and (5) perhaps some way to address integration of newbs into bands (an issue on which I reported that the community was divided). In my weekly "pet peeves", I also cited (6) /change bugs and (7) problems targeting and retaining nalargons and ommni boxes. I also made passing mention of the disagreements over how and when one should get a mandoviol and Ceremonial.

Anyway, sit tight. The devs have read our list, they're digesting it, and I expect they'll have some feedback for us fairly soon.

thanks for all the work bud.... i have one i'd like to add when the time is right and that is these new elite elite proffessions comming with player cities... i think that it would be nice for musicians to integrate those merchant skills that corespond with running a cantina as well as more songs ect as an elite elite music proffesion... i think most of us still love the composer idea of being able to craft songs so to speak and use the karioki (spelling i know) style to make bands sound great. ... well ne way thats just my 2 creds

I would like to add one to look at if its not already there. The need to balance out how a entertainer(mainley Musician) earns xp. I just started an entertainer on Ahzi last night an d within two hour of playing on Naboo in theed I hit level 4 entertaining heal whil I barley got level two musician. It would seem while nice and all the=at the healing ways more heavily then the actual playing. I was gettiing anywhere from 10 - 112 heal points at three in a row and only 8-15 musician points after the two flourish routine. Just seems like a bit of inbalance to be able to max on so fast. I am not asking for nerfs just a balance to get the musician points coming a bit faster since they take forever to earn. ( oh and before the flamers start I am not asking to be made easier or harder just want to see a balance on way or the other.)

The only sensable fix for the E. Healing thing would be to cap it's highest xp gained. The reason you gain it so quick early on is because a lot of people are gettin healed by you. If you play and don't heal anybody it won't level period.

It evens out in the end, you'll finish your Music Knowledge & be very close to completing Musical Techniques if not finished with it, and only have had all your healing for less than a day before. It's not broken, don't worry about it, sure you gain it quick, so what, just means a lot of folks are listening to you with a lot of injuries, that's a good thing since that's what our primary skill to others is beyond somethin we can roleplay. (we are medics of the mind).

Sure socializing is fun, but I'm willing to bet 90% of the people that come in aren't looking for it (judging by the very un-talkative...to a male musician anyway, people that come in...I find myself talking with my group more often than the patrons, the medics too, basically the people that are in there for more than it takes to heal them). So I'm not trying to say we heal and thats it, but that's our primary role as far as number crunchin goes...so we should be content that it raises fast. They could always up the required XP for it ya know...and then it would take as long as music, I find that the folks who want the numbers 'balanced' usually want music to be just as fast not vice versa.

I had both healing trees finished before I had Music Knowlege 3 and I had nothing in the tech tree. Maybe I'm an odd case. ..

Same for me, Kora. I finished the healing trees long before the knowledge/tech trees.

I just got music 4 last night and mny healing trees in novice entertainer were full for two days. I am working on Novice musician and I already am capped at 75 xp heling for the first two healing tiers under master musician. Is this good or bad I dont know. DO I want music to level faster sure I hink its to slow since witout the instrument we cant heal as a musician so the heal points mean sqaut then anyhow. Thats my opinion but I dont care either way if the xp on heals raised or the xp on dance/music stuff is reduced or the xp given out is raised/ either way is fine as long as its a bit more balanced. No it may not be "broken" but it is definatly not entirely balanced. I say this from ecperience of having all my other charecters classes either "nerfed" or " balanced out more" For a brawler it takes as long to level in all 4 tiers but we are not brawlers so thats a mute point. anyhow eventually theyll get to this. I am now working on Novice musician. Hope to play with yall on Ahzi in the Naboo/theed cantina soon.

This is not intended on being a flame as its just my opinion but it may come accross as one.

My top concern is thatI am loosing faith in the devs abilities to make sound decisions on the direction of the game. I have seen absolutly nothing in this patch thats been a positive experiance. They nerfed missions, they nerfed both my side professions and my means of making money. I am likely going to stop playing for a while because i am so frustrated with the state of the game. What wasn't nerfed is broken and what isn't broken or nerfed, stinks. The "FUN" of the game dropped dramaticly today.

While we're on the subtopic of new flourishes, how about /flourish 9 being one beat of "nothing"? All good songs/compositions have silent 'rests' in them, and it would be great to be able to take a beat or two to single out just one horn (a solo, you say?) without having to time the start/stop action.

Just a thought.

Nevlik, I love that idea. Right now I stop and restart my ommni to approximate the same effect, but it's not the same.
