Thread: Update on New Song?

Any word out there on whats going on with our new song? Is it releasing by itself? or with the dance? Any date yet? Any updates would be appreciated. Thanks! 8)

I want to know why other professions get regular additional content, Architects get new paintings, Droid Engineers have gotten new droids, Armorsmiths have gotten new armor, etc., and after well over a year we get nothing. And what we were promised keeps getting put off with no explanation.

The devs started a this focus thread on the new entertainer quest, which reward musicians with the new song.
Since they obviosly don't care enough to even respond to the issues raised in their own thread, we are left guessing at when it may be pushed to live. (Not that it would make much of a difference after it was postponed about three times already, I think.)
Personally, I expect it to be silently realased in one of the next updates with the devs acting surprised when everybody raises the exact same issues as in the focus thread, but that's just me...

As I understand it, the new song is tied to the new dance -- that is, they must both be released at the same time. The problem is that the new dance is bugged. It is unknown if they're working on fixing the problem or not.

Ugh, these are all the responses i was hoping to not get. But thank you for replying folks, much appreciated. yeah i think EVERY prof in the game has had new additions. Heck even the smuggler had a few things added after the game launched. we havent gotten squat. 
If you want to get depressed just do a search for new song and start reading the posts you find on like page 2 or 3 on. Its discusions about the new song that was supposed to be released like 8 months ago. Except at that point it was multiple songs. *sob sob sob* i feel so abandoned.
Seriously tho, im psyched for the new song and it sounds great (Yay!). I truly wish it gave a bonus to music buffs (or something!) so that it felt like special new content. My guess is that they decided to just give us 1 of the batch of new songs that they did for the game nearly a year ago and that they are holding the rest for the Hutt Casino addition to the game. otherwise im not sure why they would hold back on them.
And im 'very' nervous about the new song being tied to the new dance, as the SOE crew doesnt have a good track record at all with being prompt on fixing dance issues.

I would actually prefer if the song didn't give a bonus to buffs. That would only drive the bots to get this song as well. As it is, I don't see bots spending the time or effort (what do they care about audience appreciation?) for anything that doesn't give them a bonus to buffing.
I'm looking forward to having something that can't be ground out AFK, and screams, "I'm a live performer!"

Well patch 10.4 went to test center today! Yay! But sadly there is nothing on it for our entertainer quests. As a matter of fact theres only MORE jedi fix/tweaks... *wimper*

We were supposed to have our quests .2 publishes ago (really long before that, but I'm working with the "latest" information) Hmm, nothing forEntertainers in publish 10.4? Sounds like a bug to me! Here is the thread to report it. Be sure to keep your bug report in the format Tiggs requested.
