I hear that to play the new song you'll have to be a Jedi. However, actually playing it will TEF you, allowing Bounty Huntersto kill you and your entire band. As part of the same publish, all musicians will be fined 100k credits and asked to delete their characters.

I know, I'm snarky, I just wanna do a quest andget a new song soundskinda like fun, maybe.

Panthu and I have both been pursuing this, albeit from slightly different angles. The short answer right now is there's nothing I can report.

(As for JTL, I'm really not permitted to say anything:NDA and all.)

The sad fact is, the dancer problem could probably be fixed in like a week if the devs actually paid attention to it.

The devs are too adamant about one thing at a time, which I guess is good and bad. It's good when they start working on the CB and the GCW revamp. It's bad when they focus everything on Jedi which weren't even supposed to be in the game per Raph's original vision.

But we're the relatively quiet crowd, and if there's one thign that couldn't be more true, it's that the squeeky wheel always gets the grease when it comes to dev attention.

They're also going to release the Smuggler Revamp before the Hutt Casino, so we won't have any of their support in hurrying the devs along.

Meh...

Oooh, that looks promising.I definitely better trust Lucasarts to steer the game in a reasonable direction than Sony. And as an old SW:RPG'er I also agree that they should've left Jedi out altogether. Oh, well.

So, with regard to JTL, ARE there actually and Music-related features which are anticipated?

The only problems I have with that interesting rumor are:

Billing changes: This could just be redirecting your creditcard payment to LA rather than SOE. This could also mean an increase.

Server consolidation: Very much needed, but VERY difficult to do with player cities, houses, and squatter towns all over the place.

One thing I could see LA doing is changing the very game itself. Making this either Jedi Academy Online, or getting rid of the Jedi. Either way, lots of folks are gonna be upset and cancel.

Well, even though it's extremely upsetting, I think we, as a community, need to accept one thing:

We're not getting our quests before 2005.

After that, who knows when they'll show up.

Why do I say this?

The Jedi Quests (as is the Devs' style lately) have taken a lot longer to fix and adjustthan the Devsseemed to expect. Jedi take priority over everyone and everything in this game (which is more obvious than ever lately).

Jump to Lightspeed is scheduled to go Live later this month, or around there. We are nothing in regards to Jump to Lightspeed. Pointless. So we'll be forgotten about until at least February 2005. To expect anything less, in my opinion, would be irrational. Jump to Lightspeed will require at least 3 months to get working correctly, and even then they'll need to invest a TON of their time putting new content into JtL. Because from what I've heard, it's extremely dull after about a week. Read some of the posts regarding it - it doesn't look good for such a hyped up expansion. I'm finding it pretty darn funny that they wasted all this time ON space, but nothing to do IN space. Good work, Devs. Top notch as always.

Then, after Jedi and JtL, guess what - everyone else who's been put off wants their stuff done, too. Do we count in that? No, we're not Combat professions. Back burner v42.1

My only hope is that Smugglers actually get something done for them - that would be fully acceptable to supercede us. Smugglers are pivotal to SW, and the way they're integrated into this game is shameful.

So, anyways, sometime in mid-2005, they'll say something along the lines of, "What's wasting our In Testing forum storage space? Ah, crap what is this junk from 100's of Entertainers yelling about us forgetting about them. Entertainer Quest, that's not important, it's like a year old. *deletes thread*Stupid whiny entertainers, their stuff works. Now, back to those starships..."

Bottom line: we are not a priority. Nor will we ever be, I fear. That's just how it goes. You'd think we'd be a priority when we were supposed to get new content in a mini-publish, but nope we got taken for a ride. Again.

Everything and everyone is more important in this game than Dancers and Musicians.

So, my expectation as previously stated - 2005 before anything is even thought about being done for us again. This Dev Team has serious ADD. Don't you forget it. And honestly, don't trust a word they say. Because you might get the shaft, and the silent treatment.

My new stance as an Entertainer in Star Wars Galaxies: "Don't expect anything. You're not worth their time. Just wait until they delete the professions all together."

Oh, and Hutt Casino - yeah, right. There's weapons to be created. Combat to Revamp. Impossibly difficult dungeons to create and then debug and then add more content to. Don't hold your breath. We are not a priority.

My thought is either something drastic is done which will make a lot of people unhappy, But would hopefully improve the game in the long run. Or they could leave it and people will become unhappy and the game will die off.

Okay, is it my imagination or was there a thread posted by someone yesterday that detailed a PM from JustG about the entertainer quests going live next week? Cuz its gone now. Very bizarre. =/

NJ, have you heard anything about when the ent quests are going live? Or at least have you heard anything that your allowed to tell us?

Not your imagination.

JustG's info from his PM was apparently "not for public consumption," and I was to magically know this - even though he didn't say so.

I was just slapped on the wrists later, when I asked if the base step for the dance would be fixed. I was then informed that PM meant private message and I wasn't supposed to post anything.

I find it all very upsetting. I thought I was helping, and instead I got yelled at by a Dev. Wonderful.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I not the public? Am I a Correspondent? Am I a Dev? How should I know what their mysterious rules are regarding communication? Basically, he set me up. And I can't say I appreciate that.

I find it appalling that this Quest is going Live next week, yet apparently none of us are supposed to know. The Dancer and Musician communities have taken enough collective **edit** that we could at least be treated with dignity in this, and have some prior knowledge regarding our content. It was too normal to have us know our stuff was coming in 10.2, instead they had to beat us down to the level we're supposed to exist in, in the dark and totally ignored.

I won't post anything more about this. I'm through. Probably for the forums all together. I find how I was treated to be totally unacceptable. Apparently I need to know everything about Correspondents and Devs before I receive a PM from a Dev. Otherwise I get my posts deleted and treated like I'm the stupidest thing to ever walk the Earth. That I don't need.

I really wish I knew everything about everything, but I don't. JustG seems to think I should. I'm flattered he doesn't consider me to be "the public," but I hardly deserve such treatment. I'm just another player looking for info that's LONG overdue. I got it, I posted it, and at least we all know something now.

Ya know, I do know something. I don't pay money per month to be ignoredor scolded for something I was never informed about. There was nothing in his first PM to insinuate I shouldn't release the info. So I did. End of story. Irregardless of how everything came about, the fact of the matter is that their communication with us is crap and nothing but crap. By PM'ing that to me, and not telling me to keep it quiet, he was releasing it the public. If he thinks releasing information to someone on the forums with 17 posts (and thus logically assumes I know all there is about "PM from a Dev" etiquette), then there are a lot more serious problems within the current management structure.

This game is a joke. And I'm no longer laughing. It's all fun and games until a Dev scolds you for doing what any of us, who are looking for info on our new content, would do. Any other profession would get treated with an ounce of respect and dignity, and not be forced to beg like starving mutts on a roadside for any scrap of information regarding their expected new content. We do not seem to deserve an ounce of dignity and respect.

Yesterday was very strangely the single best day, and the single worst day, I've ever had in SWG since starting to play this game.

How exciting to finally get info on our Quest froma Dev. How infuriating to then get reminded I'm a piece of crap who was apparently undeserving of the information I got, and I was too stupid to know what to do/what not do with the info i DID get.

Oh, and just to let you know, there STILL ISN'TA SINGLE WORD FROM A DEV IN THE FEEDBACK THREAD. Lovely.

I'm out.

P.S. if this thread gets deleted, sorry. But now I'm on the Dev **edit** list I bet, which I most assuredly appreciate as well. I just wish JustG would have left me alone. What a wonderful way to make a player feel after getting a PM from a Dev. Good job, SOE.

Nope, I haven't heard anything that I'm allowed to pass on. I have just started a thread on the XP requirement, though, asking whether XP requirements are the "wave of the future" for other professions (as it appears they are), and reporting the strong opposition among Musicians to the XP requirement for our new song.

I understand the frustrations with dev secrecy, but NDAs seem to be a pretty common practice in this industry. Personally, I think developers overuse them. Blizzard dropped the NDA for the WoW beta 5 months ago, and it's going to have a better game as a result, IMHO. But JTL is subject to a strict NDA, and in effect so are dev communications with Correspondents. The rationale is that discussion will flow more freely, and unorthodox ideas will be tossed around more liberally, if they're not splashed all over a public board. There is some merit to it, but here (as in the executive branch of government) I think it's overused.

Sounds like HE wasn't supposed to let the info out. As they say, *edit* rolls downhill. He takes crap for his blunder (which really isn't a blunder. He was trying to help us,since we're starving for feedback), and passes it along to you.

I don't think it was the right course of action, berating you for passing the good word.

I, for one, appreciate your endurance ofthis, and passing us the info. THANK YOU!
