Thread: umm, hello?

This isn't so much of a flame is it could be read as.



Where were you sandbox people? From the sounds of it we're going to be made 100% Social, much like a politiician is, so if they remove all our worthwhat does that leave us with? Just some eye/ear candy, that's fine but it had better not cost me skillpoints to be someone elses punching bag since we're going to be next to useless the same way as we are now since jukeboxes play better music than what we do. A couple new songs and dances are really not sufficient as "content."



In regards to our sandbox folks I can only think of 3 things that could have allowed us to be left high and dry like it sounds:


A)Our sandbox people were AFG for the duration(highly unlikely)


B) They know something that hasn't been released to us so far as adding things for us to do and ways to earn creds


C)They were told to shutup by the devs because "Entertainer is not within the scope of the CU" as quoted from TH.


The answer I fear most is the last one, that truely shows that the developers are going to remove entertainers from the game before they are going to admit they lack the ability to create dynamic content for non-combat folks.


Respond, don't respond its all ok by me. This is my way of saying that this news has hit me pretty hard as a Musician.

Pretty much what Eaca said... We tried for weeks to find out if BF was still going to be in the game and didn't get our answer until it was posted to the development thread.

That should give you a pretty good idea of what it's like for nearly everyone in the alpha.

Yeah, don't blame the sandbox people. It's not their fault.


It's very clear that for some reason the devs decided to radically change the entire game and didn't give a flying fig what anyone thought about it.


I was in the alpha for a mere two weeks. The CU docs that I was shown back then were completely different than what I see posted by Blair. The CU docs that I saw were actually good. I have no idea why they decided to do such a 180 on this. Probably had something to do with hiring more devs and Tyrant leaving. I don't really know. All I do know is what we have now is a piece of crap. And, I have no doubt in my mind that the sandbox people fought long and hard against it only to be completely ignored.

All I can say is that I'm not happy about the situation, haven't been..and there's going to have to be some changes before I am.

Originally we were "c" but as was stated, the original docs were VERY different from what was released a couple days ago to everyone.

Then it really is as bad as C) sounded... that's really got to be frustrating for you sandboxers. I wasn't meaning to fry you guys, especially since they ignored you, you just confirmed my worst suspisions.

We haven't even had an Alpha server to login on.


Trust me, between all of us we're saying (and have been saying)pretty much exactly what everyone's said.

No worries, we're just as annoyed about it all as you are.


We're doing all we can.


Understand as well that pretty much every other profession is in the same boat - the "where were our Sandbox testers?" question is a valid one.


And the answer is - waiting to Sandbox test, providing feedback in forums for months, and that feedback was either noticed or not noticed by the Devs for who knows what reason(s).


Our place is to provide a somewhat balanced approximation of how our respective community will perceive any CU changes, and I can guarantee you that each and every sentiment expressed by Musicians and Entertainers in general up to this point was expressed by your Alpha testers.


The truth is that the Devs have been more communicative aboutEntertainers with the general public since that posting, than they have been with us for months.


I don't necessarily think things will be bad for us, but some big changes are coming our way whether the Devs like it or not. And the Alpha testers will the first folks to have a chance to call them on BS if we think things aren't right on that Sandbox server.


All we can keep doing is waiting. Which totally sucks. Because I'm getting tired of waiting.
