I am having trouble finding info on mind buffs.Do you notice the buffs working on yourself when you are performing?

By buff do you mean improvement in your existing mind/focus/willpower, or healing of your ownmind wounds and battle fatigue?

If it's the first, music/dance doesn't do that, so it's understandable that you're not seeing any buffs. If it's the second, yes you heal your own wounds/fatigue, even playing solo. Although this has the same location requierments as healing others: in camps you can heal mind/focus/willpower wounds, and in cantinas or hotels you can heal wounds plus heal fatigue.

Why else do you think all those marksmen/brawlers spend the 15 skill points on novice entertainer? They just love the sound of StarWars1 on a slitherhorn?

No, I meant the first one. Dancers and musicians have "mind enhancement" in their techniques tree. This does give mind buffs, though it seems to be a little known fact. Almost every other class is very familiar with the details of their skills, but entertainers tend to be a different personality type that isn't very details oriented, so the don't seem to have much information to offer.

I am not an entertainer, but I am very interested in solid data on the amount of the mind buff, the duration, and whether dancer buffs stack with musician buffs. And as I was wondering above, is it a self buff? That is, if I have techniques, and I play an instrument or dance, does it buff my own mind?

I am primarily a swordsman, and I am taking doctor for their buffing abilities. If just taking the techniques tree of musician would give me significant self mind buff capabilities, then I may be interested. Anyone have an concrete data?

Additionally, you entertainers should become more familiar with this capability, and educate other classes about what you can do. Believe me, this would make you very useful for pre-buffing for pvp battles, and would make you be in higher demand for hunting groups. Let your abilities be known!

Hmm, I always thought the "Mind enhancement" skill was for increasing the rate ofmind damage recovery. Now that I think about it, the easiest way to do that would be by bumping willpower, but I have no idea whether it lasts once you stop listening/watching. I'll have to do some playing around later, like checking my max blue stats before/during playing, and maybe while watching someone else.

Ah, the joy of undocumented features and trial and error....

That would be great. I have heard that the buff can be in the hundreds, and have heard durations of 5-15 minutes after watching/listening. I believe the buff is to the mind pool itself, though the secondary stats may also be buffed.

Any otherentertainers want to run some experiments?

One last try. If there are still no responses then I'll forget about entertainers being useful for anything battle related. It's a shame because we would pay 1k for a decent mind buff.

Am I just posting in the wrong forum? Perhaps all the knowledgable entertainers are in the dancers forum?

I agree, I would pay through the teeth for a Doctor quality buff to my mind stats.

1.5k each for 2.5 hours would be soooo sweet.

I don't think they are quite that good, but I guess we will never know. These people are hilarious. I have posted in the forums for many different professions, but I've never seen this level of either apathy or ignorance. And entertainers wonder why they aren't appreciated!

Here's the scoop. A Master Dancer covered this in game guides. Master Musicians can do the same, but after my experience here, I'm biased towards dancers. I guess I should have posted in their forum.

First off most of your post are like 1 minute apart! Christ how fast do people need to respond to make you happy! Ahh well please go visit the dancers, and as for people paying us 1000 for the buff, it will never happen as people can get the benifits from a dancer and musician just by clicking watch/listen while we are playing or dancing.Thank fully there are plenty of people that tip but there are plenty that just want to heal and run.
