Thread: Combat Upgrade Test Results
Please stay on topic in this thread and keep it to test results only. For general discussion about our CU concerns, there is this thread (which also doubles as a source of good ideas for testing), or of course other threads and the ability to start new threads
As an example (this is fake, not actual test results):
Tonight I tested the effect of flourishing on my special action pool.
While performing Starwars1 on a Slitherhorn, I saw the following results:
I used 78 action special pool points for each flourish.
I used 50 action special pool points for each base tick action cost.
Between each 10-second tick, my action special pool points regenerated by 20.
Because my action special pool has only 300 points in it, I was unable to continue performing after 10 ticks had passed.
These results indicate to me that performance will be next to impossible given the current system, without tweaking the costs for playing music or the regeneration rate.
Note that if I were the one doing that test, I'd probably come away from the test very frustrated about the inability to do what I love to do. But please keep the frustation out of the posts in this thread so that the test results are easy to parse
I will also try to keep a list of things that I feel need attention in our testing (see next post), and I will update it depending on how testing goes, and what is discovered.
/salute - Thanks in advance to anyone who gives up their playing time to test the upcoming changes!

Mean while back in the real world ....

I dont want to sound funny, but most of these 'tests' should be to validate and verify expected results, this should not be a voyage of discovery like every other SOE TC episode. I think clear expected functionality should be made available to TC players for such a HUGE upgrade.

Great idea, now we only need to get the Devs to tell us the expected functionality ![]()
I'll be away over the weekend, but I will get onto TC next week (tuesday hopefully) and play around a bit.Three and a half days without internet access, while CU testing starts - I already dread what I will find when I get back...
You've no idea how much I've been screaming for exactly that.

ATTENTION ENTERTAINERS!
Please also remember we will have some Devs looking over our stuff! As the lovely Panthu pointed out, the following would be excellent questions to put forth to any Dev willing to listen or possibly respond, or they'd be additional things to look for and test!
Any answers to any of the following questions would be invaluable to helping all of us understand the Devs' vision of us, and will show the Devs that our professionsDO need some serious work done ASAP after the CU. We were told of an Entertainer Upgrade, and let it be known to them that we expect to see one!
- How will the changes to race stats really affect gameplay?
- Will people be able to change their race or will they be forced to reroll if they don't like the way their stats look post-CU?
- If people are allowed to change race, will it be one time only like the skill respecs? Or will it be an ongoing thing?
- If it is an ongoing allowable char mod from now on (like stat migrations were), will IDs be a part of the process? (IE: Will IDs do race changes?)
- Will Entertainers have any role/gameplay outside of the Cantinas ever?
- Will Entertainers have a method of earning income beyond tips form other players or Entertainer mission terminals? (Such as the Cantina Salary/Door Fee method that has been discussed in the past?)
- How will non-Ent players benefit from being forced to visit the Cantinas? What does this mechanic hope to add to their game experience?
- How often will non-Ent players be required to come to the Cantinas?
- What will happen if no Entertainer is there to serve them? Will the Cantina structure itself serve the player even if no Ent is there?
- Is there any need to have any cost at all for flourishing if it is merely aesthetic enhancement?
- Does the buy in Skill Point investment for the Music/Dance skill boxes make sense in relation to a hybrid template? (IE: Is a player giving up the ability to earn income and partake in other areas of real gameplay just for the ability to be able to perform Songs and Dances? Is this a reasonable exchange for a single toon player? Can this be done as a "main" with out having to give up other areas of the game beyond what would be considered fun and worthwhile?)
- Do we heal Battle Fatigue anymore? How is the rate of healing? Too fast/too slow?
Unknown as noone seems to have gotten any BF yet....trying to die and get some now.
- How are our skill trees changing in regards to Mind Wound healing? Will those skills be replaced with anything?
So far no XP changes for healing
- How is levelling? Is the rate of healing enough to provide adequate xp?
So far NO HEALING XP...none
- How does flourishing work? Can we still perform for extended periods of time without having to stop?
I can flo nonstop on a slytherhorn with the default 1000 action (even tho it says its takign from the con pool on the char screen)

Also we need some people grinding dancer/musician to see what the high levels are like, but we also need volunteers to blow themselves up in ships to up the fatigue healing so we can get some masters faster... I'm gonna pick a busy cantina and set my toon Eaca afk, as much as I hate it its not like we really got a choice here.

Ya we were able to get some by having someone suicide run their ship.
Someone even got to EH2.
It is REALLY slow though. Regular BF does not incur as fast and we tried the Radioactive sampling, but it does none atm.
