I sent a csr ticket in last friday night about a buff bot in coronet on intrepid server named "lamuche"(or something like that).

The response I got was to the effect "we are sorry that you feel that this is ruining your game play. Fortuantely ther are many cantians that YOU can go to." -csr Chris

I will upload the screen shot of the ticket later whenI get home.

By the wayI quit master musician 2 minutes later, a profession that I had since launch.

PS. Make sure Doctors can roam free, and keep IDs in the tent, cuz you know how dangerous a roaming ID is...

To be honest it's your own fault for filing a ticket and expecting anything other than an abusive or automated CSR response..

Man, that sucks

I don't understand their perspective on this. Why should YOU have to move and go to another cantina, you're not the one that AFK MACROING AND BUFFBOTTING. That buffbot should have been teleported to 0,0 on Corellia. I wish they would take some initiative on this, because this situation is completely out of hand, and it's cost us yet ANOTHER live Master Musician.

I'm really sorry to hear you dropped Musician, and wish you the best of luck on the next profession you work towards.

Allowing this to continue is destroying our professions, and yet we get responses like this from a CSR that insult our style of gameplay. Why is it we need to abandon our social areas, and go to an abandoned cantina or sparsely populated cantina just because some shmo got an AFK buffbot macro emailed to him and he thinks he's "providing a service." They're systematically eliminating social gameplay, this is not difficult to see. I can't tell you how many times I've gone into Coronet Cantina and found 1 live entertainer amongst a sea of AFK'ers and a couple buffbots.

This is a disgrace to our gameplay. Good work, SOE. Thanks for making my game so very much fun to play. I get to talk to player NPC's whose only responses are "Invite me if I'm not in a group kthx!" and "Buffbot doing dance and music buffs free!" What a hoot. I guess I could go to another cantina and just talk to myself. Is this what the "social style of gameplay" is all about? Finding a deserted cantina to get some peace and quiet from the AFK'ers? Lame.

I want to know right now froma CSR why we need to abandon our social interactions between players to go to another cantina, when people areobviously AFK macro'ing. Why do we lose out on our active gameplay for the sake of someone running a macro.

Iwant to know.

So do I. I'm starting to get to that point that I dreaded...ya know, the point where I don't care anymore, I'm going to resign myself to quitting and start going on rampages. And, I won't care if I get banned because I'll be quitting anyway. But, I'll make some buffbots miserable in the process.

I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting there...every day that I read something like this on the forums...which *is* practically daily at this point...every time I see a buffbot, every time I feel betrayed, or feel like my dignity is being ripped apart, every damn day I log on and I get pissed off about the buffbot situation.

Whatever...

I've been thinking a lot recently. I'll be posting my thoughts at some point today, during lunch break or when I get home--probably on the Dancer forums. But, it's inching ever closer to the do or die point for me.

(provided as informational only)

It would bea shame if 2 members of a faction (1 Overt and 1 Covert) were to enter a cantina looking for a buff. Oh, what luck, a handy buffbot. What a valuable service they provide, so easy to find what with their barking and all. The Covert member has some Medic skills (let's say Novice Medic) and they /invite the buffbot for a mind buff - they've got healing to do, after all.

But wait, in comes Johnny Imperial (or Johnny Rebel, whoever the opposite faction is). A fight ensues between the Overts! The Covert must help his comrade in arms - so he applies a Stimpack A to their Overt friend. Oops, TEF'd. Oops, poor buffbot is group TEF'd. Oops, open season on buffbots. It's not the Covert's fault, the Entertainer should defend themself at that point.

And all that poor Covert wanted was a mind buff...such is the perilous life of a buffbot who provides a valuable service while completely AFK and let's say....sleeping while "playing" the game.

No no no! You can't quit again! I posted a full on rant in the Corr Forum last time you did. *sobs*

Again, I know there is no official word yet, but I really am getting vibes that they are trying to make this not an issue for us anymore. Whether the final solution will be outlawing Bots, changing our Profs so they can't be botted, restricting long running macros, just not allowing Bots in Public Cantinas, or just giving us some where else to go where Bots can't.

I don't know which it will be, but I strongly feel like the solution is coming. I know the Dev Team is talking this over now. Just hang on, we can get through this. Besides, I need you guys to stick around so the real Social Players can help me voice the needs for our Social Prof.

So they are talking about it... ok. WHAT are they talking about ?None of them have come out and stated in anyway that Bots are against the game an exploit or that they are going to stop bots. No we have statements like "We don't like afk" Uhh ok... They also Don't like to police for 3rd Party macros. How long and all they still are doing it freaking talking about it. I want statements. Solid statements saying things like "We ARE working on stopping the bot problems." or " We feel the current macro system and unattetended gameplay is wrong and is exploiting the game and are working on ways to change it." or "Bots are a form of Griefing and we are changing the TOS to reflect that" No they are just talking about it still and we have no idea even what it is they are saying or talking about.

The world would be such a better place if everyone just talked about doing stuff instead of ever doing anything about it. Not.

I have seen stuff you guys haven't... I can't say what... and I don't know what the final solution will be even if I was allowed to share.

I would fear any solution for us that they didn't talk over in detail for how ever long it takes... I don't want a "flo timer" so I can only Flo using a UI and only once every 10 minutes.

I think there is some urgency to the talks now... I had not seen that before. *shrug*

Just like I'm sure they are talking over the dancer/musician buff bug that went in with patch 8, lets see, we're up to 9.2 now and still absolutely nothing done about it. I have zero faith in the DEVs doing anything anymore, we get talk but no action. And to make matters worse we all know from their past track record that IF they do come up with a "fix" it will be far worse then the problem.

What would there be to talk about? It's a bug. That is a lot different than a Design Change.

How about talking about FIXING it? I know most of the DEVs seem to think actually FIXING a bug is a novel idea but maybe if they talked about the fact that the game is full of bugs and how much better things might be if they actually FIXED them things might get a little better, not just for us but for everyone who plays this game.

Sorry Panthu, I don't mean to rant at you but I'm getting so upset with all the bugs that never get fixed.
