Basically, the Devs don't want to force anyone to interact with us.

Forced interaction with entertainers = Bad

Forced interaction while hunting so you can get reasonable xp= Good

Get it now?

Basically, the current crop of devs doesn't understand basic psychology. They think that negative reinforcement is a "bad" thing because it has the word "negative" in it. The BF system is one of negative reinforcement. BF is logical and practical and makes sense, but because it "hampers" gameplay, and forces "downtime" they are getting rid of it.

They seem to never have noticed that downtime wasn't a pain in the rear because of Entertainers who entertained the visitors, it was a pain because of the AFK spambots, begging for tips, and "selling" their ability to bark ads for merchants.

The fact that people needed to rest every once in a while made sense. If it was looked at as unfair because it only effected combatants, then they should have been brave and made it effect everyone somehow. Instead they were cowardly and got rid of it.

Aeros on ahaziis a master musician, my wife Raevynnis a master Dancer. We made our characters after the last respec was handed out, so we don't have the option to respec. I want to know if that is going to be given to those of us who no longer wish to be master entertainers/musician/dancers because of this change. We have zero use now. Unless some one has a spare minuteI will never see an audience.

DidI Enjoy musician, yes when it was a needed profession, now it is just visual fluff. I am sorry but we have future plans doesn't hold up, from what i Understand you have bugs 2 years old in the system you haven't fixed, and lots of professions need serious work I will NOT believe that you are working on this issue, until it is seen. I can tell you that if I don't get a respec, or make entertainer professions a 0 skill point professionsI will still be dropping musician, but that just pushes me 1 more step closer to just canceling my account when another game comes out.

When your turn over rate for accounts is so fast that you have to offer 30 day veteran rewards as incentive then you have serious issues , and maybe its time you started doing your customers right and listening to them and taking into account their wishes, with out customers you don't have jobs

THIS is the result of what the Devs are doing to Entertainers, Scip.

This is just pathetic. Tell the Devs that the time is NOW to finally say ANYTHING to us, to save some of these subscriptions.

Does nobody who's in charge of this game understand that it is NOT appropriate to ask players to pay for a game, when your role is made nearly useless? We need action, and NOW. Get a freakin' Dev in here, get many Devs in here, save our professions or we're all screwed.

We need more than vague hope of a future for Entertainers in SWG.

We need action, we NEED communication, and we need it NOW.

Get somebody in here.

This Publish looks like total crap to everyone, and it's horribly tarnishing Entertainers.

Read the many posts around the forums - we've become the butt of jokes all across the galaxies now. We're now "useless" to everyone. We're now "pitied" because of how we've been "nerfed."

Have a Dev step in here and set the record straight, or we're all screwed.

Keep the fire burning bro, what has been done to the ents with this publish is extremely short sighted and bush-league on the devs behalf. Im embarrased for them really. The SWG entertainers (and crafters for that matter) were a huge unique gaming experience and selling point on the MMORPG scene, and with every publish post-CU SOE is slowly stripping out every bit of uniqueness the game has left. Its quite sad really, kinda like watching a car wreck in slow motion... you see whats happening but your powerless to stop it...

the fatigue system was actually part of the old combat system, and was no longer part of the game, save for visually being there and letting entertainers recharge it for xp. in the old system, fatigue would gradually lower your combateffectiveness as you got more and more fatigue. after launch, if you had 1000 fatigue you may as well be running around with a cdef for all the good you could do with that much fatigue. with the new combat system, fatigue was never part of it. all your skills are now based on your combat level alone.

this is not a nerf, entertainers are just now starting to get thier part of the CU. im sure there will be more additions to entertainer skills in the future. you know thier not about to admit that very few professions actually got addressed in the CU. maybe by the end of summer we will have the complete CU in the game hehe.

Shouldn't speak of that whcih you do not know. Thepre CUBF system only ever effected healing. And as for what you had to say about entertainers and the CU? I don't really recall seeing you in the Alpha forums, so how can you speak about what was planned and intended?

I don't know who the poster you were replying to is (people do have alts you know - corrs, glowies, devs, csrs, all kinds of people) or what this person is basing this info on, but...

I do know there was an Ent plan and it did go along with the changes we saw in the CU - it was to be done along side the CU, not as an actual part of it technically. Anyway, that plan never made it into the Alpha forum and I got in trouble for even mentioning its existence in there.

Never the less, we are seeing some of the changes that were scheduled for that old plan - I'm guessing more are to come, we know the inspirations are being worked on for example.

My question though is, does anybody (Dev, combat player, suit, crafter, etc) really have any reason to care about these professions anymore?

They could take out these professions right now, and the servers would go on without any real problems, whatsoever. If an entire server had no entertainers whatsoever, it would have gameplay that was as good as any other server.

We are, for the most part, "quarantined" from the playerbase as a whole (for lack of a better term). The developers need not even bother working on us at all in any timeframe we would consider reasonable, because we no longer affect any major subsystem on the servers anymore of any crucial importance.

If the developers were to come here and say, "we thought about giving you more of a role, but we feel that you are fine the way you are," what would we do then?
