Now we can start charging you bastards to get your battle fatigue healed! Remember the image design patch? 30k for stat migrations...

You can expect the price of music buffs to increase as well. Should we start charging 15k or 25k?

I own Lebow, Master Dancer, Master Musician.
If this goes through I will cancel my both of my accounts.
For those of you cheering "Yay" will you be making the rounds to all of the cities on all of the planets at 1am to serve the customers that were being helped by afkers?

What is really wrong with afk people? They added your precious "afk ignore" and if they didnt put themselves on afk you can still manually type it for goodness sakes! So what if someone wants to spend THEIR $15 a month afk? Don't like afkers, DONT PATRON!!!! It is that simple. And now, thanks to the endless line of whinners, I will now have to go find someone to buff me and I might even have to talk to them to be polite. Maybe I dont want to talk to people which is why I choose to go to the afkers. There will be evils to this you havent even had the forethought to think of!! Give it two weeks and all you people moaning will be moaning again for it to be fixed because it has now messed you up in some other way.

Alaman, I apologize for stealing your thunder and posting about this separately; I just wanted to make sure everyone sees the news.
As for what's wrong with AFKers, they degrade my game experience. They make it easier for players to receive heals and buffs from bots than from me. They remove any need for social interaction in the cantina. No other significant MMORPG permits bots on the ridiculous scale that has long been tolerated by SWG.

Exactly. We are giving players what they want, whever they want it. We are a service profession. If you want customers to use you instead of a bot, it's your job to entice them to use you, not eliminate your competition.

Actually, I like to think of removing afk as the same thing as the anti-monopoly laws in the US. You see, we can't compete against buff bots, no matter how hard we try. And believe me, we have all tried. When there is no way we can compete, then it is time for the government(devs) to step in. Sorry, but everyone who runs a buff bot likes to use the term "fair competition". There is absolutely nothing fair about bots.
And, all that before we even get into the arguement about immersion and detriment to non-bot's playing environment.

I for one am happy about this. From both sides of the perspective coin.
I remember back when I started exactly a year ago, Aug 1st, 2003.... at the end of my playing night I would stumble into the cantina to get healed up and ready to play again the next night. It was fun to talk to the people in the cantina...and I would pick out one or two favorites... the ones who spoke to me and were interested in my activity or whatever... to give nice tips too... even when I was nearly broke back in those days... I always made sure I had a couple K with me for tips when I visited the cantina each night.
I recall thinking.... "man, when I am a Master Bounty Hunter it sure will be fun to come in here and tell stories, flirt, and chat after a long evening of play." Well you know the story of what happened.... by the time I made it, the cantina was no longer fun... it had become a place to either go afk myself, or get in and get out as fast as I could.
On the other side of the coin, I have just created a Musician character on a new server to try it out from the other end. I wanted something more chatty and relaxing to do sometimes so I am headed to Master Musician and possibly cantina ownership in my game old age.
I will still have pistoleer skills (just seems to fit with the whole bar scene
) so I can hunt and fight sometimes, but its mainly to try actually playing a Musician for the fun and interaction.
It seems I have actually picked up a new profession at the right time. It seems as if the galaxy will be in need of actual entertainers who play their character.
And that, my friends, sounds like fun.

Ya know, all I hear is "Me, me, me" "I cant make any money while the afkers are doing buffs" "It kills my game when there are afk macro buffers in the cantina"
Try thinking of someone else..........
Always thinking of yourself is extremely selfish!
SWG has been about Player Based Marketing from the get go. Why dont you try marketing yourself a bit better instead of comming to the boards? BTW when you are posting on the boards do you log out? or are you an evil person afk?
