I've actually heard two versions of this (surprise surprise
)
One person I know was given the ok from a CSR because he sent a Spatial warning to the buffbot first. Someone else I know was given a warning by another CSR and he was doing the same thing.
This is definitely a grey area. The best advice is be careful, is isn't very good advice at all. ![]()

Also, I suggest putting a /stop in there to stop the buffbot from playing, but you didn't hear it from me.

5) Have the squadleader say the equivlent of"i am going to evenly distribute my wounds to between you and me, in the process stoping your buffing abilities. You have 30 seconds to say something before I do." It is this verbal warning that is what stops it from being griefing.
Wait, so as long as you TELL someone you're going to grief them (even if they're AFK) and they don't ask you to not grief them within 30 seconds, then you can grief them toyour heart's content? What kind of rule is that.
So,I'm playing my instrument, checking my email or talking to my guildies (or all of the above) and some guy I'm buffing who hasn't said a word to me the whole time just says, "i am going to evenly distribute my wounds to between you and me, in the process stoping your buffing abilities. You have 30 seconds to say something before I do." In the spamtina I completely miss him saying anything like this to me. That makes it okay to slam me with wounds and possibly incap me/kill me?
I find that very odd...

I get what you're saying Warryr, but I think Warplex has a point. If they're an AFK buff-bot, then they won't be able to grief. No griefing for a person who has been properly warned what will happen to them. Not to mention no griefing from a person who isn't ATK. However, you do have a good point and I myself wouldn't want to be treated like this.

Ok, this is the famous carpathia method:
1) Find a squad leader that can distriubute wounds (pretty sure its 0-0-4-0)
2) Find a master combat medic with an average strength action disease pack
3) Disease the squad leader so that his wounds are double that of the target buffbot (most have stamina or quickness buffs)
4) Have the squadleader join the buffbot's group (should be a solo group).
5) Have the squadleader say the equivlent of"i am going to evenly distribute my wounds to between you and me, in the process stoping your buffing abilities. You have 30 seconds to say something before I do." It is this verbal warning that is what stops it from being griefing.
6) Distribute the wounds. This may actually kill the buffbot (haven't tested it that extensivley), but will most likely bring its action so low that it cannot start/stop dancing.
This was OKed by a CSR.
Can you email me a macro for this?

Uh, yes it does. Since you are obviously so self centered i don't know what point there is in responding, but i will anyway. If an extremely rich person decided to become a doctor, walked into coronet and started giving doctor buffs, for free, don't you think that doctors would be pissed? Of course, people like you would accuse those doctors of being "petty" and "whiners".
So how boring has the game become, when you start plotting ways to disrupt someone else's gameplay? I repeat what Galanthias has said: Why do you care if someone operates a buffbot? I do, with one of my alts, walk around and give free buffsand healssometimes, just for the perversity of it. I do, with another of my alts, give free musician buffs (though not through a buffbot). And bringing up free buffs is probably not a good example for you to use, when you look at the very very long lines that form at all of the spaceports, and out on most of the adventure planets. In the doctor forum, there are people that come on and complain that there aren't enough doctors to do all of the buffs that are wanted.
If you don't like people who use buffbots, then don't use their services. If there is anATK person doing buffs, most likely players will use that person, rather than someone who is buffbotting. However, if there isn't an ATK musician, then there should be an AFK musician stationed to provide that service. Why? Because that is what musicians and dancers are all about, and that is providing a service. Oh my, they aren't sitting there prattling away and interacting? Well, even when I'm ATK I don't necessarily do that, because that isn't my style. So why don't you complain about that, too, because that doesn't fit into your insight of what a musician really is or should be?
Get a life, guys!!!
